Vacheron Constantin Malte Moon Phase and Power Reserve
Vacheron Constantin announces a new model: the Malte Moon Phase and Power-Reserve. The barrel-shaped case measures a generous 39 x 49mm. The dial is adorned with five different finishes. The inner zone features a silvered, finely hand-guilloch Clous de Paris or hobnail motif. The outer zone is decorated with a vertical satin-brushed finish, also silvered. The minute circle, the power-reserve display as well as the inscriptions Vacheron Constantin Genve and Swiss Made are all transferred, while the seconds subdial at 6 o'clock is circular satin-brushed. And finally, the minute-circle and power-reserve zones are screen-printed in white. The moon-phase display is composed of a disc with a galvanized base and a moon face in 18k white gold or pink gold, depending on the model. The broad dial includes nine hour-markers, two Roman numerals and a Maltese cross, all in 18k white or pink gold, depending on the version. Power is provided by a manual-winding 1410 manufacture caliber bearing th
Is META Watch Pursuing A Patent On All Analog/Digital Dial Smartwatches?
META Watch was co-founded by Bill Geiser, who earned his watch industry stripes while working at Fossil. Whatever you might say about Fossil products, what you need to know is that it is run by some extremely smart and professional people out of its Dallas, Texas, headquarters. Geiser went on to be one of the earliest proponents of modern smart watches. According to him, he has been wearing a Bluetooth connected watch for about five years now C perhaps the only one wearing one for so long. Today, Bill Geiser is the CEO of META Watch that recently released the Frank Nuovo-designed M1 smartwatch collection (hands-on here, with interview). Frank Nuovo is a former head of design at Nokia and designed the M1 collection C which I thought was actually pretty interesting.Anyhow, even though META is putting considerable resources behind the M1 smartwatch collection, it is only the start of what Bill feels are a series of major evolutionary steps for the smartwatch industry. META doesn't just wa

I did not want to wait
Long story short, I have been looking at the 5167 for years. However, I was never really serious about it based on the cost. But as I wind my way down the watch path, I find myself always gravitating towards a few specific things. And this is not to say that I don't like other things about watches. Yet, if I am to find what I believe my perfect watch (which I am still on the hunt for, even if it is not possible), these are the things I like.Smaller size. Still 40mm, but on the small size. Everything today seems so big. I am not a big guy. 5'10 and 175 lbs with a 7 wrist. And while I love some of my bigger watches. If I am picking what I really prefer, it is a Daytona sized watch. Lume. I cant get over it. I just love it. A date. I am ok and appreciate no date watches. In fact, in many ways, I prefer them. But if I am going for my perfect watch, I do prefer a date. Water depth rating enough so that I can go anywhere and do anything. (I will never dive, so that is not a
