Baselworld 2015: 21 Tidbits About Basel
In March, 150,000 people will flock to Basel, Switzerland, for the world's largest watch show, Baselworld. Our gang, of course, will be among them. Because of the frenzied pace of the show, most Baselworld visitors don't get to see much of the city. That's a pity because there is a lot more to it than the show.?My first visit was more than 35 years ago. Jaquet Droz Bird Repeater Automaton Watch
Jaquet Droz is about to officially announce their new automata-based minute repeater watch called The Bird Repeater. Yup, that's right. Last March during Basel I got to view a computer rendering animation of the watch in action. While the minute repeater is activated a few things happen on the dial. Among those include a "moving" waterfall as well as a mother bird feeding a chick that hatches from an egg. Automaton birds are deeply part of Jaquet Droz's original history. Lume on Planet Ocean Olympic Chronograph?

Incoming 5960 (almost!)
I saw a 5960/1A review when it was announced and I knew I immediately liked it. Well, then the enabling pics happened (thanks mikeceee, jenniferjanef and raclaims), and I knew it was time to try one on. I did so on Friday and I pulled the trigger today. For me, someone who likes exclusively sportier watches, it's perfect (also have a 5167). I just wish PP made more sportier watches....or wait, maybe I don't :)I'll post the gratuitous pics when I get it in a couple of days, but I know you'd appreciate my excitement. I learn a ton from this site -- the knowledge I receive from here beats anywhere else by far -- we're all pretty lucky. Thanks to all!
