Arnold & Son DSTB "Dial Side True Beat" Watch New For 2014
Arnold & Son will release this interesting limited edition DSTB watch at Baselworld 2014. "DSTB" stands for "Dial Side True Beat" and is a revision on the brand non well-known TB88 watch collection. In Arnold & Son speak "true beat" means dead seconds. What is that? Well, it is what you call a mechanical watch's second hand when it ticks versus sweeps.Recently, we also debuted Arnold & Son's new for 2014 DTE double tourbillon watch. I think that I like it a bit more aesthetically due to its symmetrical dial, but the DSTB is surely going to be more accessibly priced without the multiple tourbillons. My main issue with the DSTB is the name. I am getting more and more confused with Arnold & Son's alphabet soup naming policy. Eventually, they need to choose actual names or use these acronyms for internal use only. The DSTB is true to its name, but is a bit misleading because the TB88 also had the true beat seconds hands on the dial. The only new thing that is on the dial is
Royal Oak refinishing/polishing
Hey all! I am new to the forum so this will be my first post. I have two Audemars Piguet watches, a steel royal oak offshore and a rose gold royal oak chronograph. I recently had a complete service conducted on my offshore and it took a total of 5.5 weeks from drop off at the boutique to my doorstep. I am planning on having my royal oak chronograph dropped off at the NYC boutique for only a polish (not complete service) in the near future. Does anyone know how long it takes for AP to just do a polish?
Hey guys....need some input here

New SuperOcean Chrono II RED
hey all today ive ordered a new watch and im having a few thoughts about it which i wanted to run past you guys.. Ive ordered 1/2000 only Brietling SUPEROCEAN CHRONOGRAPH II RED .breitling/en/news/ind...dContent=64955 my slight dilemma is that is comes with a polished SS bracelet. Ive never owned a watch with a polished bracelet and worry that its a little 'Bling' for my liking. however they have also introduced another strap in leather with red piping that may suit me better.. so i think im going to end up buying this aswell? does anyone have any thoughts/pictures wearing a polished bracelet? is it too much? the 2 straps in question are : and any comments / help would be greatly appreciated.. cheers Andy..
Are watches that important in your life?
I’m reading all of these posts regarding waiting lists, lack of availability of stock etc. Is owning a new Rolex that important? I mean it’s just a watch. I’m fine with the rolexes and other watches that I own. I never thought I’d ever own 1 Rolex no less 3 of them. BTW I do believe I’ll be purchasing the new 39mm OP with a black dial. I love the simplicity and size of that model. I think it’s one of the winners of Basil this year.
