Audemars Piguet & Theo Jansen's Strandbeests At Art Basel 2014

The relationship is ongoing, and Audemars Piguet uses the event as a means to introduce new ambassadors as well as to announce its ongoing commitment in supporting select artists and causes.At this year's show, the focus was on Dutch artist Theo Jansen, whose Strandbeests are mechanical automatons resembling massive, though what would be rather miniature,?lifelike "beasts." Completely made of recycled PVC tubes, joints, and plastic bottles, these strange creations are powered by capturing and compressing air and using an ingenious logic model. By devising a so-called analogue NAND gate, the artist is able to create what are essentially logic circuits, so that the beasts can automatically decide when to stop (when one reaches the sea water) and continue when no water is detected and reserve

The coolest strap ever! + Deployant
Finally got these from the NYC boutique. Excellent service and venue., and gifted a travel case and the lifetime magazine. Very happy with the rallye strap- changed the look of the watch completely. The curved ends bring a sporty style to it. The deployant clasp is well worth the money. Very well made and super comfortable. Interesting video looking inside of a Rolex Deepsea
Some may have already seen this video, but I thought it was a pretty cool view of the Deepsea. I've seen the Rolex diagrams, but had never actually seen someone remove the titanium piece from a Deepsea. It's also a nice sneak peek at the 3135. something I'd do to my personal watch, but it gives me an appreciation for the level of machining and design of the watch. If you didn't know, you'd think that the steel ring and titanium were one piece because they sit so flush together. I also didn't realize there was no threading on the titanium, pretty cool.
