Am I Crazy or Just Content ?!?
Well, as some of you know through PM's, et al that I have been looking at other PP since January. I have been through several different styles... Calatrava, Complications, GC and keep coming back to the same dilemma. That is, do I already have the perfect piece ? 5167 ?? This watch can do it all and it's a Patek !! More complicated Patek's costing over 100K are built upon the 324 SC movement which is reassuring and I would not call this a beater watch by any means, but it can do most everything (Almost pulled the trigger a few weeks ago and was going to purchase a 5227 and 5396 but said wait ! Am I buying these to wear or something to have around ? I thought about it and decided that my 5167 was good enough for now). I have a hole burning in my pocket and could easily afford a GC piece (or two) on down, but feel like I would never give it the time of day with the strap on the 5167. I've been told that leather / alligator straps are not at all comfortable in the Summer heat whi

Should I buy it or not?
I entered the Rolex world only a couple of months ago and since then I've been addicted! By no means I'm an expert but I learned a lot about Rolex, luxury watches and it's balue...... thanks to TRF sand its membersMy 14 year old boy picked the habit from me and can tell movements in different Rolex models, knows the lingo and has been obsessed with RolexHe was with me over the weekend at the AD when I picked up my LVc and was mesmerized by the YM40 Blue dial.I'm thinking of buying it for him (without telling him) to give it to him for his graduation 1- before prices go up2- before it gets discontinued (possibly)I raise my kids to earn what they get and appreciate what they have, not to get thing easily but this time I'm so tempted to get it even though my wife thinks this is spoiling . He is a very responsible young man and no where near spoiled!What would you guys do? Get it or let him work and Buy his first Rolex with his own money?
