Ringing in the New Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Minute Repeater
Jaeger-LeCoultre provided watch fans with a special treat last week, when it announced its new minute repeater. The Master Grande Tradition Minute Repeater is a member of the Master Grande Tradition family, so it draws upon a classic heritage of watchmaking. But it’s also something new: this is the first time that Jaeger-LeCoultre has made an automatic minute repeater for the collection. (The previous Master Grande Tradition Minute Repeater was hand wound.)The new Minute Repeater is 39 mm in diameter. Its case is made of rose gold. It measures 12.1 mm thick. It has a two-level, concave bezel which slopes down towards an elegant, grained dial with silver coloring. The hour indexes are simple, applied rose-gold markers; the only numerals to be found on the dial are the small Arabics on the minutes track, all in a standard JLC font. The dagger-like dauphine hands have two facets: one is sandblasted and the other is polished, to pick up the light at all angles. A small seconds counte
Triple Threat: Audemars Piguet’s Tradition Tourbillon Minute Repeater Chronograph
To many watch fans, Audemars Piguet is all about the Royal Oak, its iconic octagonal sports watch. However, the family-owned Swiss brand also wowed aficionados of haute horlogerie at this year’s SIHH with its incredibly complicated and extremely limited Tradition Tourbillon Minute Repeater Chronograph, inspired by a vintage timepiece from the 1920s. The watch’s cushion-shaped case takes its design cues from that of a vintage pocketwatch that currently resides in Audemars Piguet’s private museum, located in the brand’s longtime hometown of Le Brassus, Switzerland. Inside the case is a proprietary caliber that combines three major horological functions, a chronograph, tourbillon regulator, and minute repeater. According to Audemars Piguet, two editions of only 10 pieces each will be available: one in a titanium case with white-gold bezel (pictured) and the other in a rose-gold case with white-gold bezel. The rose-gold/white gold version has an anthracite dial
BASELWORLD 2011 - New Model - Patek Philippe 5208P - Minute Repeater 5208
(Press Release and Images by Patek Philippe SA)Patek Philippe Triple Complication Ref. 5208PSelf-winding Grand Complication wristwatch with minute repeater, monopusher chronograph, instantaneous perpetual calendar with apertures, and moon phaseThe new Patek Philippe Triple Complication Ref. 5208P is yet another accomplishment that underscores the leadership of the Geneva-based workshops in the complicated watch segment. With a minute repeater, monopusher chronograph, and instantaneous perpetual calendar, it presents the most challenging degrees of difficulty with peerless perfection. And it is not a one-of-a-kind timepiece: it is a new model in the regular Patek Philippe collection, offering definitive proof that the so-called "domain of the extraordinary" is part of the everyday reality at the privately owned manufacture. It is Patek Philippe's second Triple Complication within a short period of time. In 2008, the first was the Ref. 5207 with a minute repeater, instantaneous perpetual
15300 - date won't advance easily via crown
I sent my RO in to Clearwater about a year ago. I could have sworn I was told this was a known issue. The watch was repaired / fully serviced / and I read my third year warranty.Now...the issue has returned. I can advance the date by setting the time and with effort / I.e. Pulling the crown in and out advance the date. The person at CS had no knowledge of a known issue. Problem now is they are closed 12/21-1/4...I'll have to wait until Jan to send it in or it will just sit.Has a into e else had this problem??Thanks
AP ROO sharing
Hi guys,I am so happy to share with you my first ever AP ROO Chronograph 'Black Theme'. It's a very beautiful yet elegant timepiece though not as eye catching as the Navy, Panda or Volcano version of the same model but a very humble one which will not catch too much attention at work. Here is some unboxing and wrist shots and I hope you will join me to share my happiness.I'm keeping the plastic on as I will wait to wear it on my birthday some months later.Cheers
