Cartier Opens New Store in the Forum Shops at Caesars
Cartier has opened a new, significantly larger store in The Forum Shops at Caesars in Las Vegas. The new boutique is located at the mall entrance in front of the Fountain of the Gods. To celebrate the opening, clients are invited to view The Cartier Precious Jewelry and Timepiece Collection in the new boutique through August 30. The collection includes more than 100 exceptional pieces which will be traveling throughout the country this year. This is a unique opportunity to view the magnificent jewels and timepieces which evoke some of Cartier's most beloved themes and showcase some of Cartier's most extraordinary creations. Some of Cartier's newest creations will also be on view, including pieces from the new Fine Watchmaking collection and new designs in the Trinity and Love collections. I am delighted to announce the relocation of Cartier within The Forum Shops to a premier location for our clients. The store is more than double in size to accommodate an expanded collection for our c
Seiko Star Wars Watches
Seiko watches is about to release the mother of all limited edition watches for us nerds. In celebration of both the 35th anniversary of Star Wars as well as the upcoming release of the films in 3D, Seiko will release six limited edition models for a total of 5,000 pieces. Star Wars is likely one of the most powerful franchises in existence and continues to capture the time, minds, and spending money of fans internationally. Combining something cool with Star Wars is frequently a recipe for success. I have to admit that I never saw this limited edition set coming, but it is one of the reasons why I love Seiko - because stuff like this comes out of the woodwork.First of all, the entire set will be launched on October 12th, 2012. I don't know if that is only in Japan or internationally. I believe that the models will be mostly available in Japanese retail locations with some internet sales and possibly limited?distribution?internationally. If you want one, start checking online in a few
H. Moser & Cie Perpetual 1 Watch
This watch isn't exactly new but recently made some headlines by winning the prestigious Golden Unruh (golden balance) award by one of Germany's top watch magazines as voted by the public. You can see how people could like this watch. It is very pretty, and as I will discuss, it has some awesome mechanics behind it. The design is pretty classic, but has a polished sense of refinement that makes it a bit sexy, and very refined. Part of this is due to the fat leaf style hands that look nice against the thin and demure baton hour markers.H. Moser & Cie is perhaps a brand you haven't heard of before. They are a smaller company, but I have been noticing more and more advertising from them - so they are getting orders or funding from somewhere. Actually, I understand that H. Moser is one of the people that helped make IWC what it is. The connection between IWC and Moser isn't exactly great these days as I understand it. It is true that as a smaller brand with a very complex watch - quali
AP service
I’m considering purchasing an AP. I’m still researching models, but I’m curious about a few things. With my Rolex watches I send them in as needed for service. What is a reasonable timeline for sending in an AP model like the 15400 for service? (Ex: Every 5, 7, 10 years?) What does a standard service run? How long is the turnaround?Just because I’m sure this will be suggested... I used the search function and didn’t find concrete answers, and most of the threads were 5 or more years old...Thanks in advance.
Sausage/Painted Dial Durability?
Used to be a sandwich guy, but now the sausage/painted dials are growing on me. Other than aesthetics, are there any cons for sausage/painted dials? For example, durability of the painted (vs. sandwich), lume, etc. Also, are sausage/painted dials only on the base/lower models?
