Bring a Loupe: A Rare Speedmaster 'Ed White,' A Gorgeous Heuer Carrera, An Underestimated Rolex Oysterquartz, And More
This week, Bring A Loupe covers some iconic vintage pieces, but also some others flying more under the radar. Among the obvious choices, you can find an early Speedmaster, a great Heuer Carrera, and a promising Universal Geneve Polerouter Sub. There are also some watches that you probably expected less, including a quartz-powered Rolex and a Movado Datron relying on the mythical El Primero movement. Should I sell my Daytona for a ROC?
Ok here is the deal. I am very big fan of the RO design. I currently have the 15400 with black dial. I am getting the RO diver very soon. Within a few weeks. I am thinking of also flipping my Daytona to get a panda dial ROC. The only thing holding me back is the movement no being in-house. So I ask you guys what you think I should do. I know it brings the variety in my collection down quite a bit and that is not what concerns me.
Incoming at last
Got a call from my AD!My 5726 arrives in 2 weeks, can't wait
BLNR In Stock
Local AD just had one come in. It was on display to my surprise. I put a deposit on it and its back in the safe. Not sure what to do
RSC question
I was in NYC this last weekend and wondered into the Rolex building. I just recently acquired a Pepsi GMT. I have been having problems with the crown now winding. They told me that it needed a service and a new crow. The total is about 800 dollars. Does anyone know what the RSC does for a full service to the watch? does it basically come back like new?? Here is a list of stuff they found with the watch.WATCH CONDITIONl Bracelet wornl Case scratchedl Bezel scratchedl Dial luminous material worn l Full service requiredl Bracelet scratchedl Bezel dentedl Hands luminous material worn l Crown worn Looking at this list, you'd think the watch was a mess. I couldn't see half this stuff. I thought it was pretty clean. Thoughts?!?!
