State of my ROO 25721ST
Guys, I haven't been wearing my ROO 'The Very first One' lately. After looking at Wayne's pictures of his recent acquisition that looks just like mine, I decided to pull mine out of the bank today and continue to enjoy wearing it. After I got my Diver, I started wearing this piece less often. Last time I put it on was back in November at the F1 GP of Austin. Today I am reporting the state of my watch:Still some bright lume on it! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360212780.246494.jpgI also noticed that my pushers are starting to age even though they were just replaced during a service back in 2009. Today, under a 10x loupe I could start to see that the Therban on the pushers is slightly cracking. Just like an old car dashboard in a 1970s Maverick. I love it! Another living proof that I've enjoyed the hell out of this watch. I think I wore this ROO as a daily beater for most 2010 and part of 2011. Good deal on ck2998?
I found a brand new ck2998 in Japan and with the tax free, additional 5% off and exchange rate it will come to $5413. Of course I would still have the tax when returning to the US. I held off on buying but they had two in stock so I'm sure it will be there in a few days if I decide I really want it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Finally LNIB 2254.50
Wanted one of these for years just from seeing pictures on the net, in person this diver blew me away ! This safe queen was a local pick up, all boxes, cards (dated 2008), and tags, for $2000. The hang tag list price was $2,600. I now have my four favourite watches and my el-crapo watch box is finally full, guess it's time for a proper watch box now.
Incoming finally...
So for those who have been following, here it is, the 5712-1Aimage.jpgI don't understand why only one pic is downloading, not sure it's the right one...They also had a 5131R, 5164R, both awesome, the 5164 was in SS as well, I love RG Aquas but the SS don't do much to me.Also had a few others, 5711, 5905, was a little underwhelmed by it, also saw the 5960-1A.Oh and I got a good level Patek leather wallet which was THE Patek swag I wanted
Patek 5167A Clarification Needed
Hello all-I'm currently going back and forth between purchasing this watch. There are 2 questions that keep coming up in my head and I've tried looking all over but end up a little more confused the deeper I dig.1. I don't have any other watches so this would be it. Would the 5167 stand up to the daily wear and tear of other 'dive' watches like the Sub C? I feel like there are 2 camps, one says that this would be a great daily full time watch. The other says, it is too delicate and wouldn't be able to take 'normal' everyday use.Can anyone whose owned this watch shed some light on this?2. I've heard that this model has had a bad rap with winding issues and not keeping time that great. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks again for the help!
