Cartier, Patek Top Sellers At Patrizzi & Co. New York Auction
Patrizzi & Co. opened the 2010 season on March 9 in New York City. Sales exceeded $2 million and two-thirds of the 161 lots sold. The top price of $250,000 was paid for a 1929 gold and nephrite Cartier Comet table clock featuring grande sonnerie chimes��the most complicated mechanism ever made by the company. A Patek Philippe Celestial ref. 5102 wristwatch brought $180,000, and a platinum Louis Cartier Art D��co Tank watch produced in 1929 set a world record at $135,000 – well above the presale estimate. In addition to the catalog auction, Patrizzi & Co hosted its second silent sale with three-day viewings in Hong Kong and New York City. Thirty-nine pieces were sold for a total of more than $110,000. Purchasers appreciated the wide range of brands and styles, and took advantage of the “Buy Now” option. Omega has invited me out here for the official debut of their 2011 Seamaster Planet Ocean watch collection. A few months ago, I saw the watches in a trade show setting at Baselworld in Switzerland. Anyone got the new white diver?
Is it really limited edition of 200? I'm considering white vs. blue diver. Love the blue one but the fact that the white one is LE makes me lean towards it for a better resale value. Of course white strap would be swapped with the navy one from day one.Adding a poll as well.

A rare & cool spotting with tourbillon AP content
Saw this incredible piece worn by a true gentlemen at a Starbucks in Boston over the weekend, what a beauty! Wow I spotted the watch as we both entered, I immediately knew it was a 44mm but as I got closer I couldn't even believe it. Took the opportunity to compliment the watch to the owner as he told me the story about how the watch was delivered to him in Boston from an AD in St Barts directly in person. He was also a car guys and had a few other APs but we didn't get a chance to go into details....As we were ordering our drinks, without us knowing it, he had already paid for our drinks, pretty cool gesture I had a great talk with him and I will probably never top this spotting! lol
