Words like "lavish" and "indulgent" immediately come to mind when handling the 5287. It's definitely very traditional in its inspiration, but there are a number of modern touches that make the 5287 something different entirely. 2 OF 22 The predecessor to the 5287 is the 5247, which utilized the same movement (more on that later) but with completely different aesthetic priorities. What can I expect from AP Boutique with my new watch?
Hello all,I am expecting a Boutique-only watch to arrive soon and I have a question about what happens to the watch when it arrives. Do the Boutique staff keep it in the back for me all wrapped up in whatever the factory sends it in? Does it go out on display until I physically go there and pick it up? This is my first AP, so can anybody shed light into if the watch arrives in some special package (the way a sealed PP does) or otherwise?I sometimes hear that people see a watch in the store (can't recall if it is the Boutique or AD) and the staff say sorry that watch is spoken for, it isn't for sale but people are still able to try it on. To be honest I don't like the idea of a bunch of other random people trying on my watch and playing around with it before I take delivery.Am I able to tell AP to keep it in the back and not have people testing it out while I wait for it to arrive? Some new straps for my 44 SS
I had some straps that I ordered a while back, One is the GP strap with red which I bought used and the other is a strap I bought from AP bands, I think it is the Ruebens Barrichello with white stitch. Both are a great change to the rubber. I really like the AP bands one, but I have had a hell of a time trying to fit it. I bent one screw bar in the process and I am ready to send it back for crappy fitment issues. Too bad, it's a nice strap for the SS. Anyway, here are some pics of my experiment this afternoon!
