Girard-Perregaux 1966 Perpetual Calendar Watch
It is deceptively simple and pretty. I think I actually prefer Girard-Perregaux's use of minimalism over a brand like Vacheron Constantin. This is their 1966 Perpetual Calendar watch with an automatic in-house movement and also a moon phase indicator. A lovely thing in 18k white or rose gold. If you are looking for a good priced, well mannered, and large sized pilot style watch, this just might be the piece for you. Archimede released their next Pilot automatic watch with the Pilot XL Automatik. The watch takes everything you like about the traditional simple Pilot watch look and ups the size from 39mm or 42mm to 45mm. The crown itself is 8mm thick. This is actually a good size making for a decidedly large watch that I would NOT describe as being silly big. "That giant watch looks ridiculous on your wrist!" .is not a statement this watch will attract.The Archimede Pilot XL is housed in a steel case (made by Ickler) with a brushed finish, and the sapphire crystal has a double AR coating - so it is quite easy to view and won't really have glare. Sometimes it's good to be on holiday trying different watches. I spent few chances (forced myself actually) to walk in to several AP dealers in HK (as we all know Rolex is just everywhere around the corner of each block), and one thing I noticed is that they don't know much about AP! and the discount is max 10% on very comparable USRP.On the other hand, this holiday's second leg was in Singapore and after my family went home, I decided to took the MRT to Orchard Station and explore the AP Botique, it is tiny compared to PP, VC, Rolex, IWC, Omega, and tuck in a small corner (next to Hermes) on the other side of ION building, but the staff are friendly, and I couldn't stop myself not trying any watches........So here i am with the Panda and Bumblebee, my left wrist is smaller than my right wrist (I wear on my right) and the staff told me that the discount is 15% plus 7.5% GST back... much better than HK.They already have the new 41mm Royal Oak on display, but both HK and SG don't have t

Hello everyone! I wanted to get your thoughts on options to have my Patek Aquanaut serviced - aside from the Henri Stern Watch Agency. I've used Stern before and they do a wonderful job....but they are quoting 5 to 6 months for a service. That just seems crazy! In essence, I am just looking to have the watch regulated since it has now begun to lose about 12 seconds per day.Any of you know of a reputable service shop that handles Patek? Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated!
