Bremont Supermarine 500 Watch: First Diver For Young Brand
Emerging British luxury watch maker Bremont recently announced their first diver's watch. This is an important occasion for each active' watch brand. Having at least one solid diving watch is a positional and status signifier. Sort of like saying that the company is not serious about its theme unless it has a functional diving watch. Though the brand is based in England, all watches are produced in their atelier in Biel-Bienne Switzerland. While I feel that some of the current Bremont watches are bland looking (though pleasing and functional), the new Supermarine 500 does not come across that way. Sometimes you want a diving watch to be more conservative looking and focus on doing its job well rather than being too avant garde. That is why diving watches are important the watch lover community evaluates them to see how well a given watch maker is able to represent the genre.Bremont focuses on flying and aviator inspired watch designs, having a diving watch that fits into that look is
A Week On The Wrist: The Zenith El Primero Chronograph Classic
The El Primero Chronograph Classic from Zenith, a watch launched rather quietly at Baselworld 2015, caught my eye immediately. It reminded me of those old Zeniths of the 1950s, and in my belief, will do its part in reviving an entirely overlooked category of watches that I know people love, though we don't hear much about it – that of the in-house dress chronograph, under $10,000. Sure, you have your GPs, Pateks, Langes, and Vacherons, which are all truly stunning dress chronographs, but under or at $10K, all in-house chronographs that have any real meaning are big, bulky, sport watches. This Zenith is simple, elegant, and may just be (almost) perfect. Here are my thoughts after spending a week with this new Zenith El Primero Chronograph Classic. Zenith Does An About-Face, Sort Of 1 OF 18 I'll begin this review by discussing this watch within the context of the brand that produces it. Zenith, under the control of Mr. Jean-Claude Biver, has been a bit
Seconds Hand Running backward
Figured it was time to ask this question. All 3 of my Pateks: 5712, 5164, and 5524 the second hand runs backwards when setting the time if i move hands anti-clockwise and it runs forward when moving the hands clockwise. So basically if i'm setting my watch to 10:10 everything is fine if i advance the hands perfectly. But if i miss the mark and move the hands to 10:12 and when advancing back to 10:10 the second hand runs backwards when doing this. This seems odd, but since all 3 watches do this they cant all have an issue right?
Another incoming from Takuya - SubC
Many heard the thread I posted. I was looking for my second SubC. My first Rolex purchase was a Sub brand new back in the day in 2003. We are planning to give that to our son for graduating college. I was on the search for a new Sub. many of the trusted sellers were selling like new at new prices. I actually ended up finding a new one. I was sleeping on it when I texted my old pal Takuya to see if he had a like new. Timing is everything. He did. I asked just how good it was as the delta from new AD to Trusted seller needed to be worth while. He said it was in perfect shape, just like new. I jumped on it and got it today.Enjoy the pics as much as I am enjoying the glidelock (have one on my Hulk and fell in love)Takuya rocks!!!1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg4.jpg5.jpg
