Found: A Patek Philippe 3448 White Gold At Sotheby's New York (Or Is It A 3450 Yellow Gold?) C The Story Of The Convertible Perpetual Calendar
The reference 3448 has always been one of my favorite vintage references. There is something so refreshing about the razor sharps lugs (when the case hasn't been polished) and the simple dial layout with. So when I heard about a very special 3448 coming up at Sotheby's, I had to go see it in person. What you are about to see is something you have likely never encountered before – a Patek Philippe reference 3448 in white gold, with a later yellow-gold reference 3450 case as a back up. Say hello to a convertible Patek Philippe. 1 OF 5 This reference 3448 white gold is accompanied by an entirely different case, dial, hand-set, and crown C all in yellow gold. That's right, you read that correctly. This watch, coming up for auction at Sotheby's in New York tomorrow, was born a white-gold 3448 in 1966 and was purchased by the original owner in 1967. Then later in 1986, the owner decided that he would really like a yellow gold version, so he wrote to P
Had difficult decision to make this morning....
Went with the black one for today since the white one's been on the wrist for past 48 hours. HAGWE!

GMT question BLNR or LN?
I want to get a GMT. Didn't like the SkyDweller so gave it away. One of the ADs has a LN in stock. I haven't tried it on the wrist, but black and steel combination generally looks good on the wrist. The BLNR is tough to get, but with some perseverance I might be able to get it. I really like the blue hand compared to the green. Plus the blue/black combination looks better.Shall I get LN or wait it out? If I get the BLNR, I might get Blue/Red insert to swap the bezel. I think its a versatile watch. The insert would work better on BLNR than the LN? The SS BLRO will be a while to get plus not liking the jubilee bracelet much? So a BLNR that can be BLRO look aslike once in a while and BLNR when needed. What are your thoughts fellow TRF members?Anyone tried BLNR or BLRO insert on LN?Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
