Ticket to AP JoyRide ... FOUND !!!
Dear all, I have been silently following the proceedings on this forum for a while ! .. and have finally found my ticket for the joyride A Huge Thanks to Adam Craniotes for helping me choose the AP that best suits my tastes ... and to Matt.Wu for helping me find one .. ! The moment I strapped it on, I was in love .. The Forged Carbon Diver is just so handsome !!! [ it glows like a dream in sunlight .. ], the ceramic bezel is the best I ve ever seen and the level of finishing on the dial is just phenomenal .. Here are a few quick and dirty shots from yesterday evening ... A more detailed pictorial will follow in a while.Cheersnishant
Which Vintage Omega?
I would like to purchase a vintage Omega Seamaster in excellent or pristine condition. I have heard of a Cal. 354 using a bumper wind system and a Cal. 563 using a full rotor automatic wind system. Is one movement more desirable to a collector and for service when needed? Any suggestions on sources for acquiring this piece? Thanks!
Recent Auction Results
Anyone follow the Sothebey's auction results in HK this morning? .sothebys/en/auctions/...es-hk0789.htmlSome interesting results and I thought the catalog was very well put together with something for everyone. There seems to be a definite thawing of some modern-era classics like the 3970 (with a P selling for $130k), the 5970 (with a P selling for $190k) and the 5070 (with a P selling for $175, a new record for a non-sealed 5070P). 5970G and R were flat however.Nautilus performed well as well of course with a blue 5711 1/a selling for $60k, which to me is unbelievable. Who buys this instead of a 5070J/G/R for a little more money? Two enamel worldtimers in the catalog also did fine-average I would say with a 5131J selling in the mid 90k range and a 5131G selling for just slightly above $100k. What caught your eye? Have a good day.

Picked up a DSSD Blue - wow
This one has always intrigued me; my AD got one in and I took the plunge! This piece may not be for everyone but I've gotta say, wow. The dial is stunning and it really feels like a tank (in a good way). I'll post more thoughts after I've worn it daily for a week or so but first impressions are outstanding. And of course, here are some pics! By the way, my wrist is a flat 6.75. As you can see, a top-down wrist shot is deceiving and almost always makes the watch look bigger vs. a normal side wrist shot.
