Watches and F1: Oris and Williams F1
It's strange how sponsorship pairings just click sometimes. Intentional or no, every once in a while, a team and their sponsor will resemble each other beyond the superficialities of brand partnership, and the resulting synergy can produce some truly great successes. A great example of this in the watchmaking world is the 11-year partnership between Oris and Williams Grand Prix Engineering. Both companies, while not necessarily the flashiest or most well-known in their respective sectors, have a reputation for quietly producing some of the most capable, technically advanced machinery in their fields. The reasons for this between the two varies, however. In the case of Oris, while the company produces cutting-edge and innovative mechanical pieces such as the Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter, the first-ever wristwatch with a mechanical altimeter (find out more on that in Mark McArthur Christie's excellent write- up here), the brand has simply never captured the greater public's interest in th
My Thoughts On The TAG Heuer Connected Smartwatch, By Kevin Rose (VIDEO)
Today, TAG Heuer announced the TAG Heuer Connected smartwatch, which is powered by Intel hardware and Google's Wear OS. While it might not feature the latest and greatest in the increasingly crowded wearable-tech market, it might just be – due to a unique trade-in program – the smartwatch of choice for the diehard TAG Heuer fan. Watch the video above for all of my thoughts. 1 OF 26 The Specs - 46.2 mm in diameter- 12.8 mm thick- case, back, and lugs made of grade-2 titanium- black rubber strap, with additional straps available in red, blue, white, and orange- 1.5 in. transflective LTPS LCD display- 360 x 360, 24-bit display- 240 ppi, 200 nits- 1 GB main memory, 4 GB storage- Dual core processor, rate at 1.6 GHz (normal operation speed = 500 mHz)- 410 mAh battery; 25 hours of battery life- $1,500Unique features, which deviate from the default Google Wear OS:- 3 digital TAG Heuer Carrera dials (each with three color options)- "interactive counter
PP 3468 dial
Hi all,I've found a PP that I'd really like to buy from a private party but the one question I have is about the dial. Almost every image I can find of the 3468 has double stick markers on the quarters, however, I see some that do not have the double markers. From the low quality/light picture I've seen, this watch does not seem to have the double markers and I can't see enough to pick up the SWISS at the bottom. Of course, I'll be inspecting the watch in person prior to transacting but any thoughts/info on the markers? All manual wind Pateks from this era (1960s) should have SWISS on the dial right?
Final 3
I already put a post in the Rolex section so won't put the same one here, just wanted the Patek fans to have a look if they want, so here's the link:.rolexforums/showthread.php?t=381374
Yachtmaster - No Love for the 116622
So I'm considering a YM 116622 in either blue or rhodium grey. As I'm perusing the posts, it seems it's not one of the favored Rolex models on the forum. I've noticed a couple of common themes:---Some people think it has an identity crisis (not sporty or dressy)---Some people have referred to it as feminineI think it's a great looking watch and am wondering if it's the price point that makes it a bit of a red-headed stepchild on the forum?Curious to get some thoughts...
