TAG Heuer’s Silverstone Chronograph Lives Again in 2010
To mark its 150th anniversary, TAG Heuer will re-issue the Silverstone Chronograph in February 2010 as a limited edition piece. Originally introduced in 1974, the Silverstone is instantly recognizable by its cushion cut-shaped case. For the Silverstone, TAG Heuer's design team softened the Monaco’s angles. Both the original Monaco and Silverstone housed the Chronomatic Caliber 11, the first self-winding automatic chronograph with micro-rotor. Before the Caliber 11, chronographs were hand-wound and watchmakers placed the crown at 3 o'clock for easy access. Italian Day in Western PA?
Well not officially, but my morning started with a craving for a double espresso macchiato...perfect excuse to take my Ducati for a short ride. So I strapped on my PAM 112 and geared up with my Dainese gloves and Dainese jacket along with my Sidi socks and Sidi boots and finally my AGV helmet. So for me at least, today feels like Italian Day!!! Pasta for dinner maybe? :)...Ciao...

116520 Daytona dial differences
A while back I noticed that there are 2 different dials on the current 116520’s. I had just bought a new black faced one and saw someone else’s pictures of his. The difference seemed minor (and it probably is for most people) but I had to find out in real life. Tim (train-time) had noticed it as well and with his help I managed to trace a few other black faced Daytona’s to do some comparison. side by side.jpgSo what are the differences? There are 3:1)Ticks at the 27 and 28 positions (single tick vs double tick)2)The shine of the sub dials3)The boldness of the fonts on the sub dialsSingleclose up 1 tick 2.jpg Doubleclose up 2 tick 2.jpgThe shine of the sub dials on the double tick is much more profound. It is hard to capture in a picture, but from a distance it is really noticeable. It gives a the two versions a different look.Less shine1 tick shine.jpg More shine2 tick shine.jpgThe fonts used on the double tick is more profound. As a result it makes the print more rea
