HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 167: Should You Pay Attention To Watch Auctions?
What do you know! As different as John and I are, the last watches we each bought were the same. We are now (once again) Omega brothers, each rocking a Speedmaster Mk II. We discuss the interesting world of watch auctions and try to dispel some of the myth and magic that can get in the way of a good experience. We also discuss the rather odd Ralf Tech "Torpedo" and an Artya watch with real tobacco inside.Listen to the HourTime Watch Podcast episode 167 here. Direct MP3 download here.
only RO and ROO???
I don't remember ever seeing any incoming post here for an AP other than RO or ROO, does anybody buy them or is it just on this forum the members like only sport models from AP?Who here has an AP other than these? Would be nice to see some pics if anyone has one.
Omega GTG at the Natick, MA Mall.
Hey All, I am putting together a GTG for the Boston area at the Natick, MA Omega Boutique for this Saturday, 6/28. This is posted on a couple of other fourms but thought I'd post it here as well. Here is an itinerary for the GTG along with some other info. Please send me a PM if you're interested in attending. We still have a few spots open. Schedule:2pm-4pm: Group get together at Met Bar & Grill in the Natick Mall. Obviously this is optional, but if you want to get together early, have a drink, maybe grab some food and just talk watches with some great people come out early. You are encouraged to bring your collections to show off and share with other WUS members if you would like. Let me know if you are likely to attend this portion so I can make arrangements with Met Bar. 4pm-6pm: Event at the Omega boutique in the Natick Mall. Larry McGlynn, a SMP/NASA historian/collector will be on hand showing off some of his pieces. Two of Omega's technicians will be on hand to talk techni
First Patek: 5146g slate or 5711 blue
Okay what would you guys do?I have a seadweller which is my every day, every activity watch with lots of sentimental value. I'm contemplating a sportier Patek at this time. I would like to wear it daily at work. I'm a casual dressing, frequent hand washing pediatrician. I have the seadweller for activities. So would you go with the 5711 or the 5146g slate dial to fill the role as the starter sportier Patek? And why?I would like to have this watch the rest of my life and only can afford one.Thanks.
Clatrava 3802 Real deal?
Guys i followed this auction and was so tempted to bid as the seller states the watch is new with box and paperwork. I contacted him numerous times asking if it was NOS or what ever and if he could post pics of the box and paperwork... no replies. That turned me off to this auction ,was it a wise decision?.ebay/itm/Patek-Philip...p2047675.l2557
