Rare Round-Faced Citizen Campanola Perpetual Calendar On eBay
The key point of interest on a perpetual calendar watch is command of cosmic time. Knowing the date, month, leap year, year, and simply the time, gives the wearer some ethereal sense of reassurance. The funny thing is that you can get most of this information on a $150.00 digital watch, but it really just is not the same. The analog representation of this data somehow makes it seem more important and allows you to appreciate the cycle of time, rather than the mere elapsation thereof. Which I think is really why people like analog watches, the ability to see time in a loop, rather than merely counting away.The Citizen Campanola line of watches has been one of my favorites for sometimes now, and the Campanola Perpetual Calendar watch is an obvious focal point of the series. Most however are tonneau shaped, and not round as in this model being offered on eBay. reliability AP vs Rolex
I really hate these threads so I'm cringing as I write this but this is something that is in my mind. I received my annual bonus this year and lets just say Alot more After holding off for over a year I am going to have the opportunity to take the first step and rewarding myself with my first fully self funded luxury watch. This watch will be my new daily wearer and I have two targets in mind a blue dialed RO or a Rolex blue stick dial DJ2 with smooth bezel. Besides all of the differences which I think I am aware of my question is will the AP have the same reliability to daily wear. While I have a pretty laid back desk job I would say I like to wear my watch care free. So here is my question... If reliability was the only factor for a daily wearer do you see any difference between Rolex and AP?

A visit to the AD
Went to my AD to drop off my 5711. It developed the sticking date issue. I guess I won't see it until next year.I did get to play with a few pieces and wanted to share with you guys. I tried on the 5890r and the 5164. Both amazing pieces and I can see both pieces in my collection in the future. I love the heft of the 5980 but Patek did an amazing job matching the RG case with the dial and strap. I like the 5164's added thickness and heft compared to the 5167. So my list for my next Patek keeps getting longer: 5164, 5205g, 5170g, and 5960p. Which one should be next?

Pam 183 Repair Help
I have about a two year old PAM 183 that I purchased through TRF in early 2012. It was used at that time and was purchased from a private seller, not one of the trusted sellers. Therefore, it is older than two years, but since it came with open papers, I don't really know for sure how old it is.This weekend the winding became abruptly rough and the watch is not running long before stopping, so it will need repair. I believe it is out of warranty and don't want to fudge the papers, just get it fixed correctly and at a reasonable price. There is a local watchmaker here that I have used for minor things (like putting a new bezel insert on a GMT I used to own, but I have no real experience with his more complex work. Alternatively, I could use an online watch repair service (such as??) or send to Panerai.Advice?Thanks in advance.L
