Redundancy...
Hi guys, I really have a passion for 5711/12 models, especially the SS blue dials for both, followed by the RG pieces for both models, and the WG ones are not bad but not on top of my list, I don't like much the 5711 white dial though.Maybe I am crazy but I am considering flipping my 5726 and getting one of the following, 5167 in SS or RG, or 5711 either blue dial or a mint RG version, of course the 5711 would be redundant with already a 5712 in the stable but I really love these watches, even if I prefer by a small margin the 5712 over 5711, I still like it a lot, the 5726 is a great watch, but I prefer way more the ultra thin aspect of the 5711/12 pieces over the much thicker 5726.Having an AC is nice but I realize that I never look at it, I always know what day it is and what month, the only thing I do check sometimes is the date. I love the moon phase but I already have it on my 5712 so it's not something special. From the start I favored complications above all, I thought the 5712
Holidays are Coming
Holidays are coming and wanted to be ready.Got these for our 2 boys (ages - 28 WG Daytona, 31 DSSD).28 lives in Europe, travels frequently, 31 in California. Both are on casual side, figured these would be appropriate, and have read how comfortable the Tropical strap is. Also under the radar. Considered 2 - 5167's, liked the date window, however I liked the feel of the 5164's more, and the second time zone for the traveler.I generally wear PP 5980/1A-001, PP 5270 Series 1, and occasionally a Rolex Double Red Sea-Dweller.Now I think I need a Tropical watch also??
How do you think this looks? 422
I dropped by an AD yesterday and tried the 422 on. As I just posted in Ravager's thread, I am pretty much between this and a 510, which I haven't seen in person yet.I was prepared to find the 422 too big at 47mm, bu it didn't wear as huge as I thought it would. What do you think? I already know Mike's opinion
Glidelock spring loaded locking mechanism.
I'm not sure how to call this part correctly, but I'm talking about the spring loaded hinge which holds the bracelet locked in place when watch is on wrist. I've noticed that I have a significant play on it both on and off the wrist. The play is noticable when I slighly move it from side to side at the place where the spring mechanism connects with the rest of bracelet. I really don't want to be bothered by this but since this is pretty critical part for a use of my watch safely, I decided to check on if this is concidered as normal. The watch is a month old and if this is not normal, I will have to start bothering AD instead of you guys!I marked with red circle the part I'm talking about.
