Omega Flightmaster: A Jumbo Jet for your Wrist
The Omega Speedmaster was introduced in 1957 as a racing chronograph. Through no action of Omega’s marketing department, the watch became a classic in its own time. Omega Speedmasters were discovered by professionals. They were used by pilots and astronauts, receiving the highest honor awarded to a watch; the astronauts would wear their Speedmasters to the moon in the Apollo missions. How could Omega follow up on this success? In 1969, they released the Flightmaster. This was the first watch made by Omega to appeal specifically to pilots. It was a 44mm hunk of steel shaped into a futuristic styled case that looks like the intake of a jet engine. The case was finished in a distinctive sunburst finish and sported three crowns. It has a blue 12-hour hand that can be adjusted independently to show another time zone simultaneously without having to resort to military time. Its orange chronograph hands could be substituted to cadmium yellow as a no-cost special order option…. yell

Not really into AP's like that but I thought I would share.

CK2998. It's here!
Hey, Omega gang!Happy to say my watch arrived last Friday! Super busy week, as I was fortunate enough to also get my hands on a white Daytona C, as I posted in the last few days over at the Rolex section.Being a sucker for blue, I think this one is just gorgeous. Granted, it's not a faithful rendition of the original, but rather a piece inspired by the CK2998 from the past. Regardless, the result looks so nice that I really don't mind the mere throwback nature of this LE.My local AD was great and I got a nice swag package as well. The cherry on top, though, was that he gave me two tickets to watch the Olympic soccer quarter-finals between Germany and Portugal as an Omega guest. Now THAT WAS AWESOME didn't wear the CK, but had my SM300 on to honor the invite.Anyways, here are some pics of it all!
Datejust 41 vs Datejust II
I went to 2 local ADs, neither had a true comparison but based on al the pictures ive seen online, it seems the DJII is a little bigger?! Is this true, does anyone have both or have seen both can chime in? The flutes on the new 41 DJ seems to be smaller, the whole watch seems to be daintier, regardless of what bracelet it is on. Am I off? Please help. thanks
