The Blancpain L-evolution Tourbillon Carrousel
Blancpain has introduced a new caliber to their L-evolution collection this week in Basel, and it unites both the tourbillon and carrousel complications into a single movement. The new watch is called the Tourbillon Carrousel, and it’s a modern take on the dual regulator with an openwork movement. Both the tourbillon and the carrousel are individually powered by their own barrels, and each are visible within the asymmetrical dial. Everything works together thanks to a trick differential and winding mechanism. Lets take a closer look. 1 OF 3 The tourbillon and the carrousel are both regulating devices that rotate in order to cancel any adverse effects of gravity on timekeeping accuracy. While a tourbillon consists of an entire carriage set into motion, the carrousel consists of a platform on which the balance wheel and its bridge go 'round. Dial color: 5711 vs 5712
I was able to try on a ss 5712 at my AD today, and was a bit surprised by the dial color. To me, it looked more like slate grey than the blue I had remembered from trying on a 5711 some time back. On patek's website, both the 5711 and 5712 are listed as black-blue dials, but is it possible they are different? Maybe just the dial layout make the shades appear different? Maybe the lighting in the shop (I've never tried on a 5711 and 5712 in the same location)?
Incoming.......
So, my search for a DSSD Blue proved to be fruitless as expected. A few positive leads turned up no result.I was expecting similar success with sourcing the Panerai I was after as it has not long been released, a few enquiries in and no joy, I then walked into the final AD and there it was sitting in the display case Anyone care to guess what I went for?

GMT-Master II or Explorer II
Looking for an opinion on my next and second Rolex. I currently have a 114060 (SubC No Date). I'm torn between the 116710BLNR (Batman) or 216570 (Polar). What say you?
