Really going extinct?
Very speculative I know, but do you guys really think AP won't bring back the 15300 or a similar 39mm selfwinding? Here are the two reasons it's hard for me to believe:1) Many feel that 41mm is simply too big for their wrist (with lugs extending beyond the wrist).2) There are folks for whom it's very important that the watch be true to the original design.AP's strategy seems to be leaving these folks with the 15202 as a solution. But while I personally prefer the 15202 to 15300, it's not a totally practical watch for everyone, mainly because it doesn't have a seconds hand, no screw-down crown, extra slim makes it less sporty, etc. Seems to me that when the 15300 is gone AP will have left a void in their product line -- not in some peripheral, niche, or trendy segment, but right smack in the center. So again, do you really think AP won't bring back the 15300 or a similar 39mm selfwinding? Reminder of what's at stake here:
Mind if I "chime" in??
Wanted to share a pic of this 5078P with its gorgeous enamel dial. Though very simply and understated, it's truly a work of art!
My wife is a Rolex
I don't know if I can describe it clear enough, but here it goes.My wife is alot like Rolex...shes been around long enough and I still think shes the hottest brand around. A look that doesn't go out of style. She knows what I like and I know she can make it happen..like giving me a ceramic daytona or a ss ceramic GMT BLRO , which makes my day (and the day after). And I don't like other brands, i'm the kind of person that sticks to what I like...but all I get is datejust now and then...and don't get me wrong, I like datejust (very much), but what's the big deal? If she knows what I like, & she already bought that crazy looking blue and red cermaic bezel why doesn't she put it on? Why the long waiting list ? I can't help wondering....did I do something wrong and Rolex wants me to think about it?
Does Anyone think that Tudor has too many models available?
Is it me or the they offer way too many models..... do you think they will pare it down? To me, they are living off the Heritage line.https://.tudorwatch/watches
My College Graduation Present
...after 20 years! I guess it is never too late. I have had a couple of modern iterations of this iconic model (SUBC and LV); but the first one I ever saw in the metal, and that introduced me to the world of Rolex was the 16610, in the mid 90s. Well, as a college student I heard stories of kids getting their nice timepieces as graduation presents, and I couldn't help but to think that I might, just might, be one of those lucky ones; however, my parents are from a different train of thought; and I actually admire and respect that. They worked very hard, saved and accomplished all they ever dreamed for their family...so, the graduation date came, and as I was getting ready for the ceremony, both of them came into my room and handed me a little box. Inside there was a very discreet, yet elegant, gold chain, with a plaque. On the back of this plaque there was a writing that said A Day To Remember. Well, indeed it was! Completely forgot about that Rolex Sub that I was desperate to have.
