LumiSidus 11 24k Gold Watch Winder Hands-On
If we take a step back and think about the number of ultra-high-end, highly complicated watches released over the last couple of years, and add to that number the amount of money collectors around the world have shelled out for them, it?might come as shocking that the?variety of matching luxurious watch winders is, in fact, extremely limited. That is not to say, though, that there would not be demand for cool displays: most presently available winders are either boxy and rather uninspiring in their design, or are massive vault-like items that hide the watches under thick?metal doors or unbreakable reflective?glass. Showcasing watches in a very interesting new way C while actually treating them?with the care they?demand C is where the LumiSidus 11 watch winder comes into the picture. While high-end watches appear destined to be hidden away inside vaults and safes, only to be on display once in a while, I can totally imagine fancy offices, living rooms, and bedrooms where their owner woul
Thoughts on a used (2004) Speedmaster Day-Date : 3520.50?
Hey, What are your guys' thoughts on a used 2004 Speedmaster Day-Date : 3520.50? How high should I expect to spend on one of these? I'm a big fan of what appears to be an aircraft date hand.Happy Tuesday!Steve
Omega lume vs Rolex
I had my sub serviced a year ago and had a new dial and hands put in. The dial is legible all night, but compared to a 10 year old Omega, it's still pretty poor. Both watches exposed to same light all day. Says something about Omega quality.
Omega Restoration In Bienne
I recently bought an old Seamaster (case reference 166.042) which I decided would be a good candidate for a restoration by Omega in Bienne. The dial - which is one of the reasons I liked the watch - has some issues, and so the watch needs more than just a polishing and a cleaning. A true craftsman will need to restore the dial, or better yet maybe Omega has a spare original dial laying around to replace the dial. :) Here are some before pictures showing the dial (since that is the area that I think needs the most work):The movement seems to keeping good time, so it is mostly (I hope) a matter of restoring the dial, polishing the case, and making it look good as new. After going through the process of finding out the what, how etc. for sending a watch to Omega in Switzerland, I thought I would post a thread, show the before pictures and update the thread as the process moves along.Ultimately I hope to post the after photos as well.I started by sending an email to Omega customer serv
Is this a valid Datejust combination?
Hi there,I'm a newbite and hoping those with experience can help me verify what is and is not a valid Datejust combination.I am looking for a Datejust, 31mm, Steel and White Gold, Fluted, Roman, with a SILVER DIAL.I've been presented this configuration as an option at an AD and have seen it for sale online, but I can't build it as a configuration on rolex; I only see a RHODIUM dial as an option. Can anybody clarify why I'm seeing this discrepancy?Thank you!
