Watches NEWS
Mystery Red Gold Bezel Aqua Terra
Interested in any comments on this watch. I haven't seen it at an AD but I have seen a number for sale (with a SS bezel) on the web. It looks like this one would have some real pop on the wrist. Any insights on the movement would be helpful as well.
I thought Rolex price hikes were bad...
...but having looked at the original purchase receipt that came with my recently acquired Speedmaster Professional, I think Omega are even worse! The receipt, from 2006, shows the watch at 1575. Now I'm not sure if this was the RRP at the time or included some form of discount, but baring in mind it came from Goldsmiths who aren't exactly forthcoming when it comes to talking a deal, and there was no breakdown on the receipt, I'm inclined to think that it was the RRP. In which case, it's gone up by a third in three years... Anyway, I LOVE the watch, and it's now sitting very happily alongside my '68 Seamaster De Ville and my '67 Sub 5513.
Any Tired-Looking Daily-Worn Pateks Out There?
I've seen plenty of very well-loved (scratched and dinged) high-end tool watches out there (mostly Rolex, Omega...)Do any of us have daily driver Pateks that wear battle scars? So often I read how Pateks are mostly pampered watches. I would cringe...er...LOVE to see pics of Pateks with (gasp) IMPERFECTIONS!Or does that just not happen?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pam 653
I've been looking at Panerai watches for a bit but have never owned one. My wife surprised me with a 653 for Christmas. I hadn't seen one before now so trying to learn more about it. The watch is numbered on the back of the case as T042/500 but I don't see that kind of numbering in pictures online. Does anyone know what this is?Also what is the general thought on the PCYC watches? Thanks for the help.
What Does Changing Accuracy Say About A Movement?
I wear my SubC about 10-14 hours each day, except a little less on weekends. It always rests dial up. I never have to wind it unless I haven't worn it for a couple days. It has been keeping time of about +1.6 seconds each day for the past 5.5 years since I purchased it new.I noticed about a month ago that it is now running about +1.1 seconds each day.Obviously, the accuracy is fine. But is there any significance to the fact that its been running consistently for 5.5 years and then it begins to run with a new consistency that's .5 seconds different from the previous normal? There were no drops, shocks, or other memorable trauma to the watch.
