In-Depth: Hands-On With The Entire Patek Philippe 175th Anniversary Collection, Including The Grandm
In October of 2014, Patek Philippe presented a collection of pieces that the world had been waiting 25 years to see. It was Patek who in 1989 launched the very concept of commemorative watches with its 150th anniversary collection and who today still garners more attention than anyone else in the world of haute horlogerie. We have already shown you the basics of what comprises the Patek 175 collection (see here, here, here, and here) but today we will go hands-on with all the pieces, as well as break down a bit more about what this collection may or may not mean long-term. SD4K Phasing Out?
I purchased an SD4K a few weeks back and was at my local AD again today. I noticed in the glass where the SD4K used to sit was still empty, so I asked if they had ordered another to take its place. The AD stated that Rolex said they are not sending out any more SD4K's till April (after Baselworld?) and that they are hard to find. He then mentioned that the SD4K 116600 is on its way to being a collectors item. Is this a possible hint at Rolex phasing out the 116600? Possibly fixing the lugs or coming out with a new model? Anyone else hear of this?
