Angular Momentum Urushi Red & Black Japanese Lacquer Watch Collection
Angular Momentum's newest timepiece collection is based on something very Japanese. Maybe Seiko or Citizen will be pissed? Angular Momentum's Urushi watch collection uses just that, the ancient natural Japanese lacquer. Urushi actually comes from a tree and is likely a specialized sap from a tree native to Japan, sometimes called the Varnish or Lacquer tree. For centuries, it seems that the compound has been used for various purposes, and still used today for decorative purposes. Angular Momentum has taken Urushi and created a series of watch that embody various manners of Japanese symbolism on them. The sap dries to be very hard (like plastic), and is very smooth. The sap itself is not black and red naturally when it dries as you see on the watches. Instead it is colored with iron or ferric oxide often for the black and red colors you see. It is quite an amazing natural compound, and is hard to believe it is not synthetic. The watches are each done with a different image - as capturing

Protecting the display is a top quality sapphire crystal. The same glass is employed in manufacturing of the case-back. The final touch is provided by an alligator leather strap, which joins to an 18-carat white gold pin buckle.A clever blend of advanced technology and irresistible aesthetic appeal, the new Jaeger-LeCoultre watch is offered in a limited edition of 75 pieces.

My dinner with the 'Lunar Dust'...
I had a rare opportunity to dine with a true celebrity this past weekend, and thought I would share my amazing experience...I was a very fortunate guest of Omega for the PGA championship in Louisville Kentucky. Unless you've been living under a rock the past few years, you should all know that Omega is the Official time keeper of the PGA, and Omega Ambassador Rory Mcilroy is not only two-time winner of this tournament, but is the top ranked golfer in the World...So naturally, Omega was in a celebratory mood this weekend. However, the experience that was most impressive for me took place far away from any putting green or tee box...By whatever serendipitous happenstance, I found myself sitting across from Raynald Aeschlimann - (Vice-president of Omega)...He was, as the thread title would suggest, wearing an OMEGA lunar Dust...I believe I may infact be a Jedi master, because within minutes, this watch was on my wrist, and remained there until after the post dinner cocktails...DSC00496.jp
DaytonaC Replacement Value Appraisal for Insurance
Greetings allI've tried searching for an answer to my question to no avail, so forgive me if it's a topic that's already been discussed. I need to have my DaytonaC appraised for insurance purposes (via State Farm), but given that the market value is significantly higher than MSRP, I'm concerned that an AD wouldn't provide an appraisal that reflects a fair replacement value. Am I correct in this assumption? Have any of you had a 116500 appraised for more than $12.4k (perhaps +tax)? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Also, any recommendations for appraisers in the NYC area would be very helpful. Thanks!
