Stay true to AP or diversify the collection?
AP will always be my first preference as I love the brand and their astonishing design aesthetics and beautiful finishing and build quality. I'm looking for another piece considering the AP ceramic anthracite dial but I stumbled across this Rolex rose gold day date 40 and their new anniversary green dial. I love the 44mm RG which has been my favourite piece since 2012 when it came out and acquired it instantly. On weekends and special occasions my rose gold 42 mm on strap gets wrist time. I would definitely prefer the AP ceramic to complete the AP trio but will it be all too Same same or Rolex green dial would be a good option to consider. The only reason I ask this question here as all the members here have amazing collections and watch experiences and they can guide and let us know if an acquisition later will not be regretted and if a person will find a certain disconnect with the watch even through initially they were all for it and took considerable time deciding. Movin' on Up...
Bought the RG Rubberclad in 2011 and loved it and wore it for 2.5 years.Recently sold it and moved on up to the 44mm RG ROO Novelty.I think its going to take winning the lottery to make the final leap to the ultimate AP RG ROO...the tourbillon!!!Wrist shot and a pic with its two younger brothers below...
Fall shots of my Bentlies
Here are some iPhone pics of my Breitlings. The sun was setting so light was at a minimum but not too bad for a phone.
Scratches on display watches?
I stopped by an Omega dealer to check out the Speedmaster Pro. I had a loupe with me from seeing a used Rolex, and checked out the Speedy. I was surprised to find six scratches--three on the bracelet, and three on the case. Is it safe to assume that this is not normal, and the watch has been handled roughly, or perhaps returned from a previous sale?I'm sure the scratches can be polished out on the brushed finish, but should I have to polish a new watch?
Pondering... my first PP
Guys, looking to get my first PP here. Something elegant and yet fit for every day use (at work). Obviously a solemn decision here, as it will be some time before I can get my second one 5205G looks very very nice indeed, but am tempted to go one notch lower to start, with a 5296G or 6000G. Appreciate any advice/suggestion.
