My First AP: 26331ST Panda!
Just wanted to say hello to everyone here and include a couple of photos of my new 26331ST. It's my first AP and first from a higher end brand. Before this watch, my collection primarily included Rolex, Omega, and Grand Seiko. I love chronographs and use the complication on a regular basis at work, so it was natural for me want a ROC as my first AP. I tried on a few ROCs at the AD, including the 26320 in both the white and black dials, and the 26331 white dial really stood out to me. I was never able to see or try on a blue dial ROC in-person, but I convinced myself that I would still prefer the white panda dial over it, as I just love the contrast of the sub-dials, as well as the silvery finish of the tapisserie dial. Besides the beauty of the dial, case and bracelet, I was very impressed with the feeling when engaging the chronograph buttons. It is so soft and refined compared to the other chronographs I have operated. I have a feeling it will not be my last Royal Oak watch
26400SO with leather strap?
Anyone? Pictures please?
I tried a 5712... I really didn't like it
Disclaimer - I'm not brand-bashing here!! Genuine thoughts with full honesty as always. Please don't hate me for it.I'm feeling like there's something not right with me. I've had a lot of watches. A lot. I've been collecting for a long time now, but only recently purchased my first PP. An Aquanaut 5167 on rubber. This watch is everything I didn't expect but in such a good way. I keep saying that the Nautilus has never appealed, but I was expecting, now I've got the Aquanaut, I would try a Nautilus and desperately want one. I understand more about the finishing, overall quality etc now and I'm hooked. So yesterday, I managed to try a 5712 on at a used watch store. In the display case it looked more appealing than the last time I saw one (PPPIMC - Pre-Patek Philippe in my collection ) but as soon as I popped it on my wrist, I really wasn't at all enamoured with it. Not even slightly.I have a 6.75 wrist and found it wore a little awkward, although not terribly so. The dial, IMO just seemed
New Ideas
Since everyone seems pretty sick of all the same banter, let's try something new. What new model can rolex make that would make everyone excited? Let's exclude any remakes (coke gmt) as well since that's an easy copout. I am a fan of the idea of mixing the GMT LN and the EXPII. Put the big orange hand on a black matte dial with a the ceramic bezel and all brushed bracelet.
Lumed Bezels?
Does anyone else here think the next evolution with the new sports models will be that they come with lumed numbering and markers on the bezels rather than the platinum dust? I'm sure I see a patent somewhere for Rolex filed with pictures a few years back?
