Baume & Mercier, which began a partnership with Carroll Shelby, Inc. in 2015, expands its collection of limited-edition chronograph watches inspired by the famed Shelby Cobra race cars this year. The newest models, introduced at SIHH 2016, take their distinctive design codes from the Shelby Cobra CSX2128, the 289-series roadster that won the 12 Hours of Sebring race in 1963 to become one of the most successful Cobras in history.The Baume & Mercier Capeland Shelby Cobra 1963 Limited Edition comes in two versions, each with a 44-mm-diameter case. I was reminded by a little girl that I have the official watch of the Olympics . . .
My favorite niece is 14 years old. She's smart, cute and a real sweet kid. My wife and I joined her and her parents for a trip to Disneyland a couple of weeks ago. That day I wore my relatively new Seamaster 300M GMT. She caught me catching her eyeing the watch and she said, That's a really cool watch, Uncle Wayne. I thanked her and as I'm showing her hour how the 4th hand works she says, Omega, wow, that's the official watch of the Olympics, cool.I guess Omega's advertising dollars were somewhat well spent this winter.
