Visits to watch manufactures are always exciting, and we are kickstarting this round-up with our James Lamdin's report about the manufactures of Parmigiani Fleurier. Notice the use of the plural form of manufacture? That's because Parmigiani Fleurier is actually made up of five different facilities and under different names that manufacture a wide range of watch components, including their own balance shafts and even hairsprings. The visit to Parmigiani Fleurier aside, we also checked out a couple of new watches in the past weeks including the ever popular Rolex Explorer II 216570, Patek's mega Reference 5270R perpetual calendar chronograph watch, and the limited edition Sinn U1-D. Finally, we turn our attention to some vintage digital Casio watches and also find out what the servicing process of an Omega Speedmaster Pro with Omega is like.1. Navy dial change
I was in the ap boutique today and I noticed that the ROO navy looked slightly different. I asked the sales assistant and he confirmed that AP made the dial slightly lighter as a response to feedback that it didn't look like the rendering. Took a pic. The change looks a bit more obvious in person. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Crazy afternoon, accidental purchase!
I was having lunch near my trusted AD. I shouldn't walk in.. With nothing intended in mind, I ended up walking out with a AP.. I just could not resist the lure of it, the 15305ST.OO.1220ST.01All my APs were ROOs, at the 1st look, the watch looks small to my liking, I didn't really think I was hooked on it.. But, as I study the watch more thoroughly, I was getting poisoned.. The outcome is predictable.. I ended up with my 1st RO jumbo.. An expensive lunch.. I hope it is not a wrong choice..
Hulk and BLNR Available Here - Video: To the Good Ol' Days
Fast forward to 14:40. The video is from CC in LA CA during the first quarter of 2015. They had not swapped the tags yet.Look at the options of the watches from which to choose. Just a reminder of how the ADs used to be stocked with the models, and pushed these SS to be purchased. And an example of a non WIS going for a DJ and throwing the rest to the side. https://youtu.be/gRsHzTO6iOM🥂
Oyster Band Restoration
Has anyone had experience and could recommend where to get a stretched band restored? My two TT sub that I purchased back in 1996 is in need of a little TLC. The watch itself is in great shape but the band is stretched from 27 years of wear. Does anyone have suggestions as to where I could go to get the band restored?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
