AP No. 2? Confused...BB/Volcano/Panda
AP community - I've come for advice (aka enabling and empowerment that only TRF knows how to do). I picked up my first AP (RO 15400) last month and am loving it. Since then I've been looking for a more casual/weekend watch. So this weekend I tried on a Diver at the Bal Harbour boutique, but was not so happy with it. My major issue was not liking the screw-in crown at the 10. Naturally, I then proceeded to try on a few others. I didn't think I wanted any more chronos as I have a daytona on which I never use the chrono feature. Tried a BB and a Volcano (wanted to see a panda but they didn't have one). I have to say though these ROOs are big gorgeous watches - and not to mention how the chrono dials look on the tapestry and the recessed date wheel . I'd have to say that the panda is probably the one I'd be most interested in because of the color scheme being a little more down to earth and I'm not sure I love a carbon forged case (maybe an acquired taste that will grow on me). Omega NATO - is anything else even close???
Does anyone make a NATO that approximates the quality of the Omega NATO? I'm new to NATOs, and have been wearing my Speedmaster Pro on the OEM NATO for the past couple of months, and find it fantastic. I recently ordered some very highly regarded straps from an online retailer that specializes in NATOs, and I found two issues. One - the quality of the material was not as desired/expected, and two - with the watch head centered, the buckle is not even close to being centered under my wrist. It was literally on the very edge of my wrist. Any recommendations???Also, does anyone know who makes Omega's straps? Thanks,Steve
World Time
Hi TRFI am at a point that I have decided I want to have a World Time complication in my collection. I am veering towards a 5230 but would like to get more inputs from this forum on the following:1) the center dial legibility2) the hour hand legibility3) the bezel style4) the lugs styleI have decided that I want a 38-39mm case size and a rose gold version for my World Time watch, simply because the 38-39 fits my 5.75 wrist nicely and I don't have precious metal so far in my collection. I travel frequently both within and out of the country. Thanks in advance !
Crown direction on 5711 movement?? (When forwarding the time)
All... please can someone clarify to me the direction you turn the crown on the movement of a 5711. My 5712 is clockwise to move time forward but have seen YouTube video showing it in an ant-clockwise direction. Please can someone confirm. Thanks in advance...👍
