Breva Genie 02 Air Black Watch
Earlier in 2014 we showed you the newest creation by Breva, their Genie 02 Altimeter watch with a hands-on look. It followed up the Genie 01 watches from 2013 that included a barometer. For Baselworld 2014, Breva is adding an additional version of the Genie 02 with the Genie 02 Air produced in a titanium case that has been coated in black and bears slightly different dial and calibration. The Genie 02 is a rather complicated watch given the fact that it has a mechanical altimeter in it. When Breva originally released the Genie 02 they tried to pen it as a watch for use on high mountains while skiing to check your altitude. I figured it made a bit more sense for them to focus on it being an aviation watch. So that is exactly what they did with the Genie 02 Air.Breva needed to rework a few things on the Genie 02 in order to make it suitable as a flying versus skiing watch. Aside from the hip, dark color scheme, the altitude scales have been adjusted for a wider range. The Genie 02 has a s
New ROC effect on price
About to buy my first AP, a ROC 41mm stainless steel.Curious on thoughts regarding pricing of the black / white models with the introduction of the new lineup of colors. Is there any precedent in the AP world for this? Thanks!
Can someone help with the numbers?
How many pieces do Patek Philippe make in a typical year? I've seen numbers ranging from 30,000 to 54,000. Also, is it known how many of those are base (stainless steel) sport models? Does anyone know how many 5167s they would typically produce? And 5711s?Please refer me to a prior thread if I've missed this. ThanksGregSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Black SS Submariner Date at AD
Hi all,I saw somebody do this for a Daytona a few months back. I was just at an AD visiting my family for Thanksgiving and they have a new Black SS Submariner Date. I know that others have said this is hard to come by these days, and we've all heard the price increase speculation. If anyone is interested I will buy it, and have your name written on the warranty card. Sales tax is 7% here on top of MSRP.If interested, I will only take a wire transfer (if you have no references) or PayPal plus fees (if you have many references) which includes MSRP, shipping plus insurance ($100) and tax. I will only ship to the U.S. I'm just trying to help a fellow TRF'er get the Sub for the Holidays. There is nothing in this for me, and I don't care if nobody takes me up on the offer.
Noisy rotor
Well it’s been 7 years since this 116610LV went from David SW’s hands to my wrist and it hasn’t stopped once. I did the math on this one last night. The balance wheel has oscillated 1,716,960,000 times since then. These little pieces of mechanical genius are quite amazing. On the other hand my rotor has become quite noisy as of late. I figure since it is keeping almost perfect time that it doesn’t need a full service just yet so I ordered some PML and decided to take matters into my own hands. After all, I did play around with the 3135 a bit at Lititz when I was there for the day on my interview. upon close inspection of the rotor shaft I found no wear or jewel dust so I popped it in my ultrasonic. I didn’t have any oil to re oil so I used a piece of thread with 90% alcohol to run through the rotor shaft jewel on the winding mechanism. Upon inspection it looked A OK. After blowing the parts off with mildly compressed air I added a needle tips worth of PML
