Safari on Diver Strap
Hey Guys,I have posted about the unfortunate demise of my OEM AP Deployment Buckle and how I was using an OEM AP ROO Rubber Strap with an AP Bands Tang buckle. It was an adequate solution until I could figure out what I was going to do about the deployment buckle situation but the aftermarket buckle always kind of bugged me. I recently acquired an OEM AP Diver Strap with the OEM Tang buckle. After owning a Panerai, strap changes have become almost a necessity for me. I also found, after wearing a Panerai, that the AP was much more traditional in its proportions and seemed quite narrow at the buckle. In fact, after a year and half of wearing the AP, I had gotten used to the more traditional proportions of the AP strap, so, the diver was a bit of a shock in that it is quite wide throughout its length, much like a Panerai. It's been done before (putting a diver strap on other ROOs) but I'm posting another one. I rather like it.As an aside, I was at an AP AD about a week and a half ago and
looking for an authorized dealer for omega
Hi all, I was hoping that someone here could suggest any AD that is still willing to give discounts on omega watches. I'm looking to obtain two (one for myself and one for my husband). With omega shutting down so many AD and opening up their own boutiques it's getting pretty hard to buy a nice watch at a decent price. Any help is appreciated! thanks in advance!Sue
FPJ CB + Seadweller 126600 OR ALS 1815 Flyback Chronograph (Pulsation Dial)
I have been struggling with my next watch decision severely over the last few months and have decided to enlist the overwhelming expertise of this forum. In order to commemorate a milestone in my life I have given myself a budget of $35k or so to get myself a watch (or watches). I currently own a 16710 Pepsi, an IWC Portuguese, and a Speedy - this new addition would clearly be a large step up for my collection. I think I have narrowed it down to two options:1. F.P. Journe Chronometre Bleu and a Seadweller 50th anniversary 126600 This is the combination I thought I would be getting as I had been set on the CB for a while; I think the tantalum combined with the almost magical blue dial is really something special. Add on FPJ's storied watchmaking history and the rarity of his pieces and I thought I had a winner. The Seadweller I have never tried on in the flesh (hard to find!) but have always wanted a little more beefy version of my GMT - especially one in ceramic. The red lettering &
Flip blue dial sky dweller for yellow gold gmt?
I've had the sky dweller since September and really like it. I also have a yearning for a yellow gold gmt master with black dial. Would you flip a blue dial sky dweller and use that plus cash for a used yellow gold model... or do you think it would be hard to replace that blue dial sky dweller in the future and hold on to it and add gmt later (probably much later given they are around $25k pre loved).
