Watches NEWS
BEST FROM: watches-dealer & Friends June 5, 2015
This month, we once again?have the pleasure of checking out?an eclectic mix of mechanical timepieces. To begin, there's Cabestan's wild Triple Axis Tourbillon watch, Bovet's distinctive Amadeo Virtuoso VII Retrograde Perpetual Calendar watch, and a new version of De Bethune DB25QP Perpetual Calendar watch.Moving on, we have noticed that after many years of large watches, it seems that smaller and more modestly-sized watches are in vogue now. The question, however, is are you man enough to wear a smaller watch? And with Star Wars opening at the end of this year, we imagine how some Star Wars watches would look if they were made by popular Swiss brands.Apple's new smart watch is a different and special kind of watch, and so it warrants a long-term review to accurately reflect its?capabilities. So, this month, we begin?our roundup with another look at the Apple Watch after having spent?a month with it. Is it really useful? And can it replace our trusty mechanical watches? Read the finding
Photo Report: Inside The New Jaeger-LeCoultre Boutique In NYC
Madison Avenue in New York is quickly becoming one of the best watch shopping streets in the world. Not only is there a stunning Vacheron Constantin Boutique on 64th street (open since 2011), and brand new boutiques from A. Lange & Söhne and Seiko, but as of this past Friday at 4 p.m., we now have an official Jaeger-LeCoultre store in NYC. And guess what? We were there first thing to photograph the whole damn thing. Click through for a photo report of the new Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique in NYC, now open for business. 2 OF 98 The selection of watches in the new JLC boutique is simply fantastic. Of course, you are going to see a wide selection of Reversos, including the awesome 1948 Reverso (introduced here). You will also find the full range of 1931 Reversos, which, as you may remember, do not even read "Jaeger-LeCoultre" on the dial. 3 OF 98 And if you're a die-hard Reverso fan? Well, they also have the grand complications in stoc
Incoming daily "beater"... but I'm headed out of town!
Always love reading the incoming threads and time now to start one of my own. After a few months of going back and forth between an AP or PP, AP won. Have been enjoying my AP 44mm RG novelty on weekends, but was missing seeing an AP on my wrist during the week. What a different feeling on Mondays when I have to put on my Milgauss to go to work... first world problems :).Had located some pieces in Asia and in the Caribbean with great discounts but ended up wiring to DavidSW this afternoon because of the convenience and positive threads here (thanks Roger for the nudge!). Just waiting for my tracking...Should be expecting a package later this week but out of town until Sunday... will be looking forward to getting home to take some pics!
Rolex Submariner (116610LN) Sound When Shaking?
Hey guys,Just got my new Rolex Submariner Ceramic! Looks beautiful. Not sure if this is an issue but, I noticed that when I shook the watch there is a sound like there is something loose inside. Like a screw shaking around. I put the crown in 3rd position to adjust the time to make sure I wasn't confusing it with the ticking sound. Is there something wrong with this Sub-C or is this something common with all Subs? First watch so any input would be greatly appreciated!Kevin
Rolex Sport Model Shortage
Back when I purchased my no date SS Sub in July, I thought the dealers were bluffing when they said it was going to be impossible to get a SS Sub by the latter part of the year. Well, it turns out maybe they were right. My friend here in Dallas has been trying to get one, and after calling all the dealers within 100 miles, no luck. They have told him it could be Feb/March before they are available again.Crazy. Guess that means ours have gotten at least a temporary bump in value
