Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Minute Repeater
Jaquet Droz presents this new minute repeater in the brand’s iconic “figure 8” Grande Seconde design. Deceptively simple in appearance, the complex movement’s twin hammers chime the time to the minute. The 43mm diameter case and hands are 18 carat red gold. The ivory color dial is hand-crafted Grand Feu enamel, unique in both tint and grain. This piece will be produced in a limited series of just 28 examples. Serial numbers will be painted on the dial and engraved on the caseback. Additional information appears below the image, which may be enlarged with a click.Additional InformationReference: J011033202Indications: Off-centered hours and minutes, large seconds subdialCase: 18 carat red gold, 43mm diameter, individual limited serial number engraved on the case-backMovement: Jaquet Droz 2635, minute repeater self-winding mechanical movement, 22-carat red gold oscillating weight, 39 jewels, 21,600 vph, 48 hour power reserveDial: hand-crafted ivory color Grand Feu
Found: One Of The First Self-Winding Chronographs, Ever
We all know that in 1969, Heuer launched three watches using their caliber 11, self-winding chronograph: the Carrera, Monaco, and Autavia. In the very earliest of advertisements for these advanced watches, they appeared with a few unique traits, and all lacked any model name on the dial. The thing is, Heuer enthusiasts never knew if these watches actually existed, if they were simple drawings for the sake of advertising, or if they were prototypes long since destroyed. Well, late last night, the Heuer nuts over at OnTheDash published a story about a collector who discovered the very watch you see to the right – arguably one of the first three self-winding chronographs made by Heuer, or anyone.Click through for the full story. 2 OF 2
Some AP ROO Montauk Highway Pics
Promised to post a few snaps. Forgive the poor quality. Wanted to get some of the dial texture while keeping it all in focus, but depth of field didn't work out too well. Will replace it I get better ones. My personal assessment is the flash slightly lightens the blue.
My PO 42mm
I'm in love with my latest purchase. I had originally wanted a Rolex Seadweller. Truth be told it was a bit of a stretch at the moment and after trying on a few they left me feeling a bit cold. I stumbled across this beauty and can't believe how good it is in the flesh. The crystal is almost impossible to see, such is the quality of the AR and the overall build quality has blown me away. I have a Speedmaster Moonwatch already and this feels significantly more well engineered. Ok it's not got the cult classic reputation the speedy enjoys and is a completely different style of watch but I'm very very happy with this purchase. The display back particularly attracted me to the watch and I believe the movement is held I particular high regard (8500) co axial. Without rambling on too much, here are some pictures. It's a 42mm.
Trade 5127R+cash for 5130R?
Hi guys,Would you trade the 5127R plus cash for 5130R? I know one is a complication the other is not, my question is mainly about aesthetics. The case of both watches is different, although 5127 is 2 mm smaller. Thanks for your input!
