Louis Moinet Meteoris Watch Set
You are looking at the one-of-a-kind Meteoris from watch maker Louis Moinet. Meteoris is a set of four watches and this artfully-made mechanical planetarium. The set is for the serious astrological and horological connoisseur. Clearly very expensive, the set has some interesting features that are worth knowing about. Looking at the planetarium it is clear that the table-like structure is on a pedestal with an ornate mechanical planetarium on it surrounded by four pillow sections for the watches. Actually, given the complexity of the planetarium, I wish that Louis Moinet would have put more effort into giving the watches more appropriate housings. You have four piece unique watches that are each beautifully made tourbillons that are just sitting there on a pillow. At least give them a dust cover. The planetarium weighs about 100 kilos and is 150mm tall, and about 91cm in diameter. The table and mechanics where done by the mechanic Rmy Chauvin. Like all good stubborn watch makers, Louis
Newbie questions on AP ROO Panda strap
Hi All,Forgive my ignorance - and perhaps some of you might just reply with a Here we go again :D- How do you clean leather (hornback???) strap? The AD sold me a spray polish but i presume this only works for the metal bits?- I found the clasp/buckle rather difficult to take off. I need to pull the clasp quite hard if i want to take the watch off (much harder at least compared to a Rolex strap - for example). Is this normal?
How often do you use the chrono function on your ROO
I am sure this topic has been brought up before. I want to see how often do you use the chrono function on your ROO also how long did you use it for?
Off shore quartz?
Is it true or a fake?I been offered an off shore but it's quartz which I wonder if is it real?
Help finding a new SubC -116610LN
Here is a little bit of the story. So I own a Y serial purchased new in 2003 in my collection. It has a little family history behind it through the years. I wear it quite a bit in the rotation. I always said that when my boys graduate from college they would get a watch handed down. Well my first boy is going to graduate next year with his engineering degree from SDSU. I will be giving him my Sub. I would like to replace that sub with another in the most current version.Fast forward to the last few weeks and I am surprised to see the lack of availability on the standard sub. I get and follow all the fuss with hulk (own one), BLNR, Daytona etc etc. I called up my AD that I use and no luck. She does not have one. Then I started looking at lightly used or second hand BNIB and see the grays are almost at new retails. For that price difference I would go AD all the way.So is a SubC really that hard to find? or is my AD just not a high enough volume dealer to have one?Lastly, if an
