Ariel Adams Of watches-dealer AMA On Reddit September 9, 2015
On September 9th, 2015, I will be participating in another AMA (ask me anything) session with the /r/Watches Subreddit community on Redditwatches-dealer. The last AMA I did with the watch community on Reddit was actually back in 2012 (when this site was still called aBlogtoRead). Years later, it is now time to do another AMA session, as the watch community on Reddit (as well as watches-dealer) has significantly grown. What happens during an AMA? Well AMA sessions get a lot of press because Reddit regularly holds them with all manners of important people and celebrities. The idea is for an audience base of a particular person to have an opportunity to quite literally ask them anything. This can be about the person themselves, their work, their experiences, or anything else related to Ariel Adams and watches-dealer. I personally take the AMA experience seriously and will dedicate as many hours as it takes to answer everyone as thoroughly as possible, especially considering our own policie

5170 vs. Duometre a Chronographe
Yes, I know, I know, there is no comparison between the two in terms of finish and shine, plus the Patek will retain value better.Mechanically speaking, which of these two beautiful watches is going to be more accurate chronographically speaking? Does the dual-wing design add additional accuracy that you will not get in the clutch design of the Patek? I know that JLC pushes that idea, but do you all think this is true?Which one do you think is more of a collector's item mechanically speaking? Which is a more robust design?(I'll keep in mind that this is a Patek forum...)
PAM 50 strap issue
Hi everyone. I had purchased a leather (maybe gator) OEM strap from a member on another forum, paneristi. I had worn it for a month or so and the stitching came off. The stitching that holds the spring. I will send pictures ASAP but wanted to know if this is a common issue and if it can be fixed. I called Panerai last week and they had mentioned they do not cover the strap, which was strange to me. Thoughts on how this can be fixed or if it can't be fixed at all. Thanks in advanceAsh
Q: PM and pitting
Gidday I have read and seen examples of case pitting / corrosion on stainless steel cases. My dad's 1970 Omega Geneve had to be retired because of pitting and subsequent water ingress.Do precious metal cases (gold and platinum) also succumb to pitting?CheersJoe
