The Value Proposition: The Omega Seamaster 30, A Time-Only Classic From The 1960s
Maybe new watches aren’t your thing. And that’s perfectly alright – the appeal of vintage watches just can’t be ignored. Owning and wearing a piece of history on your wrist is undeniably poetic. But if the deep world of horology has taught us anything, it’s that there’s always something to be discovered, and those discoveries can be made at all price points. For the first vintage edition of The Value Proposition, we’ll take a look at the Omega Seamaster 30, a quiet mid-century classic that hits the all right notes. While the Omega Seamaster range was created in 1948, the first Omega Seamaster 30 wasn’t introduced until 1962. The “30” in the model name refers not to the depth of water resistance, but instead to the size of the movement. Dark Side of the Moon Collection (Live Images)
Okay, so admittedly I wasn't overly compelled to look at the new white side of the moon, which looks a bit weird in my honest opinion, during Basel this year. Omega Prices
Alright so when is the increase gonna happen? Omega going into this Boutique route and Basel 2012 just around the corner when are these prices gonna jump up. I believe if you are eyeing an Omega and having pulled the trigger yet now is the time to do it. There was another post saying that AD's are getting even less stock.
SpeedMaster water resistance?
Hey gang, I ws looking at my SM yesterday and decided it could use a cleaning. The only thing is that I don't know whether its ok to take a toothbrush and running water to it. I know about the water resistance of Rolex watches, but what about the Speedmaster? I'd sure hate to turn the movement into a solid lump of rust.
Incoming LV!
If someone six weeks ago would've asked me whether or not I would pay this kind of money for a green watch I would've told them they were crazy. However, looking at everyone's pictures over the last month or so I have really grown to the point where I had to have one. Pictures do not do it justice. Different lighting throws of different shades of green. Great addition to my Rolex collection . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
