This Must Be Citizen Campanola Month: Grandaddy Of Campanola Grand Complication Watches Available
I know what you are thinking. With all these CItizen Campanola watches that I keep talking about, how could they be as rare as I say they are? Well they are rare, but great ones seem to be showing up alot lately. So lets be fortunate for that. If it was November, I would say it is a harvest/Thanksgiving treat. So after all is said about Citizen Campanola watches, this Grand Complication is by far my favorite version. I of course have one, which I reviewed here lovingly. The Citizen Campanola Grand Complication ref. AH4000-01X is the finest example of what Citizen can produce in terms of case beauty, and fit and finish. There is little I can reiterate here that I have not expressed in my reivew of the watch, which I encourage you to read.On eBay right now, is a brand new Citizen Campanola Grand Complication in my favorite flavor. With the comfortable brown alligator strap, hand polished case, and hand painted Japanese rosewood dial. No watch I own gets complimented more often. And I have
Event Recap: New TAG Heuer Ambassador Tom Brady Launches The Carrera - Heuer 01 Chronograph (Live Ph
Last night in New York City, new TAG Heuer ambassador Tom Brady and CEO Jean-Claude Biver launched the Carrera - Heuer 01. The Carrera - Heuer 01 is a huge achievement for TAG Heuer – an automatic chronograph with a manufacture movement at a very attractive price. I know what you're thinking – not another celebrity brand ambassador, but it turns out Tom Brady is a real watch guy. I spoke with Mr. Brady after the event to learn more. 1 OF 4 I'll be honest, I am not a football fan and I don't know much about Tom Brady's career. None of that mattered though – Mr. Brady is a very friendly guy and is really into watches. It turns out that the first mechanical watch that he bought was a TAG Heuer Carrera, after winning his first Super Bowl in 2002. We took a look at the new Heuer 01 together, and he explained that he appreciates the timeless style of the Carrera, both vintage and modern. When I asked about his watch collection, he laughed and e
Patek 5396R or 5205 R
Hi guys, i am planning to have either one for X Mass and went to PP store and found both with white dial. The 5205 with black dial is on the waiting list. So I tried them and honestly I like both and couldn't decide. I wanted to compare with the 5146 but it was not available. Can you help please. Which one out the 3 would you pick? Cheers
Patek at Tourneau
Well, yesterday was for AP, and today, found some time for Rolex and Patek. I have to say, my expectations for Torneau were quite low, based on my experience with the Atlanta location and comments from others here on TRF. Was very pleasantly surprised however, as the Patek specialist at Water Tower in Chicago was quite good. Knowledgeable and helpful, gave me her undivided attention. I was wearing my AP15300, and she noticed and commented on the Genta connection with the Nautilus and history. After spending a good amount of time with me trying on various models (which she unwrapped and removed stickers from), she sent me off with the just-arrived new catalog in hand!In the small world category, I learned while making conversation that the sales rep at the Rolex boutique and the Patek specialist at Torneau are sisters! Had a nice visit at Rolex, but they were adamant about not allowing wrist shots for security reasons, so no pics from there. Will post some Patek pics when I have a
18239
Hello watch nuts! Would anyone be able/willing to post some wrist shots of a 18239? I am looking at getting one, and wanting to see if it appears less flashy than the 18238. Thank you kindly!
