Recommended Reading: IWC Releases A 164-Page Online Book About The History Of The Portuguese (Nee Po
IWC has a wonderful history of no nonsense, beautiful, and impactful wristwatches. I'm talking Mark XI pilots watches, Ingenuiers, and of course, the Portuguese. To be fair, there isn't a more important IWC family to any real collector than the Portuguese, and just yesterday, IWC released a 164-page online book about this most important collection. 1 OF 3 This online book covers not only the earliest days of the Portuguese family – including how many examples of the early reference 325 were made and in which series – but also every subsequent variation of the Portuguese family. Of note, you will find a detailed section on the Jubilee models of 1993, which revived the collection, and on the several limited edition pieces – some of which I bet you've never even seen. 2 OF 3 This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Portuguese and this a great way to encourage collecting and scholarship of this family. What's the difference?
What is the difference besides the size and manual vs automatic on the 3510.50 and the new or older moon watch speedy?
Joining the club!
Well thanks to the help and guidance of G.J. and Fr John+ I will be joining the Omega Speedy Pro family this week. Just wired the money today for a fun little piece, a 3572.50! Just in time for the Olympics an Omega's big sponsorship hehe.I got a great deal on the watch and couldn't be happier. I already ordered up a few gator straps for it set. Arrival date for the watch and straps is Thursday, potentially Friday.Pics to come solo and with the rest of the family when it arrives on Thursday!
Help Identify Early 1900s' Patek Philippe Wristwatch
Wondering if anyone would like to id this watch. It was owned by my wife's aunt, who lives in Geneva. Her husband, a member of Georgian royalty, was gifted this watch in the early 1900s, perhaps before 1918...PatekPhilippe by MaximumSeven, on Flickr
