Tourneau Trains Students for Careers in Watchmaking
When the average person thinks watchmaker , they picture an older man in a white lab coat working in the mountains of Switzerland. Watch retailer Tourneau is challenging that image with a program that gives disadvantaged kids in New York City a chance at a watchmaking career. Company executives gathered recently to recognize the program's newest group of graduates.Launched last year, the Tourneau Watchmaker Program was the brainchild of Terry Irby, a soft-spoken watchmaker who manages Tourneau's service center, which is located in Long Island City in the borough of Queens, New York. Facing an ever-increasing number of watches needing service (currently about 600 per week), Irby needed to expand his staff �C not an easy task in the United States, where qualified watchmakers are in high demand.Irby's idea was simple �C partner with the Manhattan Comprehensive Night and Day School, also known as CDI, an institution that helps teens who are no longer in school get back on the right path. Hi guys!!! does anybody know if the plots from the 15300or are the same for the 15400or??? I know the case is 2mm larger, 41mm vs 39mm but they use the same straps, so I figured they be the same. But I might be wrong. The part number is PL.222.014.ORAny help would be greatly appreciated!!!

What will replace carbon and ceramic divers?
Well the title says it all, what do you think will replace these 3 models since it's clear now that they are discontinued? Don't know how a RG would be, the Wempe one was great, maybe a titanium model, the ultra light weight would be very cool, I don't think they will leave it as is with just 2 SS models considering the history of this model and the different materials you could get it in��What do you think? Have any ideas on future material possibilities?How happy I am to be one of the few owners to have one, ok I had more exclusive pieces, a Pam 82 shadow case for example, but didn't love it as much as this one��.

Leather Straps?
I'm thinking about picking up a Speedmaster, but LOVE the leather straps, any ideas on where to pick those up or a suggested aftermarket guy?
