Astronaut Chris Hadfield In Love With Space And His Omega X-33 Watch
He loves his Omega watch as much as he loves space! A few days ago Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield returned to earth after what seemed like an extremely long stay aboard the International Space Station (ISS). He was up there for six months! When we?interviewed American astronaut Mark Kelly, he told us that despite exercise attempts in space, it takes the same amount of time to recover on Earth as the time you spent up in space. Meaning that Hadfield now faces a six month recovery time. Sadly, there isn't a function for timing that on his beloved Omega X-33.The Omega X-33 is a now discontinued professional aviation watch that contained a high-end multi-function ana-digi quartz movement in an all-titanium case. It became quite the cult watch and many lamented the fact that Omega ceased to produce it. Omega did however release the follow-up Z-33 aviation watch last year (debuted here), though the older Omega X-33 and newer Omega Z-33 models look very different. Though we like them both

A Week On The Wrist: The Panerai PAM 560 Luminor Base 8 Days Acciaio With The In-House 8 Day Caliber P.5000
This is the most stripped-down watch in Panerai’s current collection and it also represents the entry level price into the world of Panerai in-house movements. It’s actually a relatively new movement – the caliber P.5000 was introduced only two years ago and back in 2013, HODINKEE founder Ben Clymer took a look at the watch in which it was introduced: the PAM 510, which has a seconds sub-dial at the 9:00 position. In case you’re not up on Panerai history, the use of an 8 day movement with small seconds is an homage to that history; Panerai used 8-day movements by Angelus in some of its earliest watches (along with Rolex movements based on Cortebert ebauches).   1 OF 7 The PAM 560 is newer than the movement – we saw it for the first time at the 2014 edition of the SIHH, and the feeling we have is that it’s part of a general move across the board to make all Panerai watches powered by in-house movements. Racing co-axial speedmaster surprise
Today, I went to the Omega boutique to look at a few speedmasters. The model I wanted to see up close was the Number Edition moonwatch with the manual wind. I have a very small wrist, under 6.5 inches, and thougth that the 39.7mm would be perfect. Tried it on but did not fall in love with the fit. The lugs extended off my wrist ever so slight. The sales clerk recommended the Racing Co-Axial Speedmaster. At first I said it was not necessary thinging it would be much to large. However I did try it on because the sales person said the lugs are slightly different and because I was there might as well try it on. To my surprise it fit much better than the Number Edition. Now I just need to make up my mind on color, but I am leaning toward the black with the black sub-dials. Would apprciate opionions from people that have this watch. Also what is the significance of the co-axial movement. Thank you in advance.

My PO at school!
I just thought I'd share some pics of my PO at school. its the IUPUI campus in downtown Indianapolis, where I attend the IU Kelley School of Business. The pictures of the elevated train are of the Monorail that I take to school, thus avoiding the parking nightmare. Interestingly the train cars, like my watch, are Swiss made!

Does anybody knows how long was the PAM233 Dot produced before the AM/PM dial came out? And why did Panerai changed the design?
