Officine Autodromo Monoposto Review
The Autodromo Monoposto is the kind of watch that can't help but illicit strong reactions from people. It doesn't look quite like any watch you've seen before, yet doesn't betray what a watch should be. Inspired by the single seat racecars of the early 20th century (monoposto being Italian for single-seat), the Monoposto melds automotive history with elements of classic watch design, to make something altogether unique and exciting. It's as much a car-watch for watch people as a watch for car people. On the surface, you have an elegant case and dial design that border on dress, yet have a distinctly technical component that touches on the vehicular inspirations. And of course, there is the bold and potentially polarizing red line on the domed crystal that refers to the tape or paint mechanics would put on tachometers to inform drivers of their engine's limit.Autodromo Monoposto ReviewCase:? Hi guysanyone know the official number for the above please?Cheers
What I chose and why?
Hi Guys and thanks to many of you for expressing your opinions on my last post Tudor or OmegaIt really helped and having had the Tudor HC delivered I decided to send it back in favour of the Planet Ocean. Why?I found the Tudor a little bland, the dial albeit it cool looking wasn't anything special, the weight and feel of the watch seemed a little light and didn't seem to be as sturdy as a lot of the watches I have owned. In summary I liked the watch a lot but it didn't scream you must keep me.thc.jpgI have had a few planet oceans slip through my fingers over the years and really do like them but in the past have always swapped them for a Submariner when I had extra cash. one variation I had not had was the 42mm ceramic version, so I pulled the trigger on that one and am very happy with the watch. (lets see how long it takes to uprgade to a sub )po.jpg
New 5980R bracelet on a 5712R?
This may seem like a stupid question but before I contact my AD I was curious if anyone knows if PP will sell just the solid gold bracelet for the newly released 5980R and if so would it fit on a 5712R. The banking on a gold bracelet 5712R but we got an awesome 5980R instead. Anywho, just curious. I know the case on the '80 is bigger then the '12 not sure about the lugs tho. Thanks!
If your Panerai has polished hands...
...does it bother you if the polished hands are not perfect? Meaning they have some sort of flaw/imperfection on them. Either it be scratches or something else. Not like it's very noticeable, but at certain angles and with the right lighting, I can see that the hands on my 233 are slightly scratched. And I recently had it serviced... though I can't be positive that the hands were perfect before the service. Are your polished hands perfect? Is it too much to expect the hands to be perfect?I've noticed this issue too on other brands/watches, so it's probably more common than it should be.
