Limited Edition Sinn 856 UTC SG In PVD Tegimented Steel Available Now
Like most German things, this limited edition (only 150 pieces) Sinn watch has a complicated and confused name, but that has no effect on it being a very cool watch. Sinn took an 856 UTC watch with PVD coated Tegimented steel (specially made steel that is extremely hard and scratch resistant), and made a couple of special modifications. It would first be good to know that Sinn watches are the preferred timepiece for most of Germany's hardcore police enforcement, military, and other "hardcore" agencies. This version is made in honor of the German Bundeskriminalamt - Sicherungsgruppe (SG), which is the Security Group of the German Federal Bureau of Investigation, also called BKA). While not an exact analog, this of this watch as being made for the German FBI, which is called the BKA.Sinn added a cool looking emblem on the watch to signify the message of this watch. Why are Patek Philippe's aperture wheels not dial-colour-matched?
Why are Patek Philippe's aperture wheels often not dial-colour-matched? Is this explained by legibility, cost-cutting through mass production or with some other rationale?
Am I only a Rolex guy?
I tried on something today, and I just kept feeling like it was delicate. It was very light for one, considering it was a bracelet. Maybe I'm just not high haute material. This was the first time I tried it on as I was reluctant to even try it on (I was scared how much I'd love it and for me, this isn't cheap). Also, it looks like art, and feel like scratches would bother me on such a piece. Also, I wasn't completely blown away. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but I'm wondering as I have evolved in my WISdom that maybe I can't get blown away anymore like I used to back when I was getting into watches. Can anyone relate to what I'm saying? Is that true crazy excitement of a new watch only happen in the beginning of your watch hobby?I'm not considering this exact watch, but rather its blue brother (minus 1 from the reference). Not because I don't like it, but partially due to cost and I like simpler watches. Thanks for your thoughts.
Anniversary Sea Dweller
Was at my local AD and they had a new Red SD...I was actually there to look at a different Rolex and went ahead and tried it on. Although it appears larger than my hulk it was actually extremely comfortable which surprised me. The more I think about it the more and more I loved it. Anyone else have this sentiment and are they still hard to find in stock?
