Picked Up A Globemaster
This was very spontaneous. I just went in to say hello and see the new PO's, which are sadly just too big a bulky imho. They are beautiful, for sure. But not what I personally look for anymore. I miss the old 2500 models. Anyway, I had tried on the sample Globemaster annual calendar during an Omega event and loved the feel. I was a little put off by the price and the month with no day. It just seemed weird. Anyway, fast forward to yesterday and I saw this for the first time and fell in love. It's super comfortable. Excellently proportioned. Has a vintage style, but a completely modern feel. I tend to shy away from butterfly clasps, but this bracelet and clasp are very comfortable. It also has great lume and a 10 BAR rating. This one was a, had to have.
AT running fast
My AT is running very fast, couple minutes per hour. The watch is 4 years old, never had a problem before today. Should I take to an Omega service centre or to a watch repair shop. The watch retailed for 9K. Thought please.
The return of an old friend ....
I sold this watch to a good friend a few monthsback, and regretted it immediately. Luckily, my Pal has about 60 watches, so this one was justsitting in his box. Met him today and convincedhim to sell it back to me.An old flame comes home to Brooklyn, the return of my 1980 Tenth Anniversary 863 ....
Calatrava 5296G-010
Guys, I have the possibility to get a 5296G-010 at a significant discount (10%) from an AD close to me. This watch has been on my radar for a while now but haven't pulled the trigger because of a mix of personal and practical reasons, none of which have to do anything with money. Maybe the most prominent reason is that I live in a very hot and humid city (Dubai) and I was told that the leather strap 'disintegrates' really fast in this weather if I choose to wear the watch on a daily basis, which I am planning to. The AD told me that, with daily wear, the strap would need to be replaced every 8 months! I also understood it is a very fagile model, although I would never wear it during sports activities. This watch is for my personal taste, and because of its simplicity, by far the most beautiful timepiece and I do not have any other in my wishlist (I do not like the 'bulky' 5227, nor the 'sector dial' or other gold versions of the 5296, nor the other overly classical Calatravas). Worth me
