INCOMING Omega Seamaster 300 Master Co-axial
Hey guys (and gals),It has been a while (nearly two years) since I added a new watch to my collection. Having just achieved a large goal, my wife suggested that I buy a new watch to celebrate, so I headed down to the boutique and surveyed my options. I focused my search on finding a simple, symmetrical diver (with NO date complication). I checked out the usual suspects, i.e., 114060, Pelagos (Blue) and the Tudor BB.I have always enjoyed my Speedmaster Pro, so I decided to wander from the Rolex display over to the adjoining Omega Boutique and that is when I first laid eyes on the 300MC. The moment I slipped this watch on my wrist, my decision was made. The perfect symmetry, the PCLs, the slight patina on the lume, the domed crystal, the beautiful Liquid Metal bezel, the 60-hour power reserve, the matte dial...everything was perfectly executed...this was exactly the watch I was looking for! Most importantly, Omega finally added a micro-adjustment mechanism to the clasp. For a person who h
Incoming Aqua Terra Chronograph GMT
Long time TRF member, first time post. No gratuitous unpacking shots but I did want to give a shout out to Fr. John and thank him for his referral. Jim from DC Jewelers is first class all the way and I would highly recommend him. I have been a long time Rolex guy (SS Daytona and DJII) this is my first Omega. The blue teak dial sold me. Pictures don't do this dial justice! Thanks again Fr. John
Omega Serial # / Approx Year of Mfg Chart?
Does one exist? Can you easily tell roughly when your Omega was made via the serial ala Rolex???
PVD coating durability
I know for many of you a PVD treated Rolex is pure blasphemy, but for those others that actually own or have owned a Rolex with a PVD treatment, I'd love to get some feedback (and some photos) on how well the PVD has held up. It seems that one of the knocks against them is that if you get a serious scratch, there's not much you can do other than use a sharpie and just deal with it.However, my experience has been different. I have a PVD Panerai that has seen a lot of wear, and it doesn't have a single scratch on it. It does have an interesting patina around the edges of the case. I also have a PVD treated Sinn U1, and I don't think it's possible to scratch that thing. After nearly a decade it doesn't have a blemish anywhere on the case. On top of that, I had a DLC treated Nighthawk Custom 1911, and I had a similar experience - no scratches anywhere.So...let's see em if you got them. Please post pictures of your well worn PVD Rolexes. I'd also be curious to compare the difference betwee
Question: Watch Winder
I think I should get a watch winder for my Sunmariner. I don't wear it very day and presume it may be a good idea to have a watch winder for it. Any suggestions? Much appreciated.
