Vacheron Constantin Pays Tribute to Mozart with New Mtiers d’Art Watch
Since 2007, Vacheron Constantin has been a patron of the prestigious Paris National Opera. In 2010, it released the first in a planned series of 15 unique watches in its Mtiers d’Art collection, inspired by the breathtaking mural painting on the ceiling of Paris’s Palais Garnier Opera House by French artist Marc Chagall. The brand unveiled the third timepiece in the series, the Mtiers d’Art Chagall a l’Opera de Paris “Hommage to W.A. Mozart” recently at a New York luncheon co-hosted by the brand. The dials of the Mtiers d’Art Chagall & l’Opera de Paris collection feature miniature paintings in the centuries-old grand feu enamel technique, practiced by only a handful of artisans today, chiefly in Geneva. The first of the watches, presented at a gala held in the Palais Garnier in November 2010 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Association pour le Rayonnement de l'Opra National de Paris (AROP), the Friends of the Paris Opera &a
SIHH: Girard-Perregaux 1966 Full Calendar
The 1966 collection has quickly become one of Girard-Perregaux’s icons. The collection is named for the Neuchatel Observatory’s Centenary Prize, awarded to GP in 1966 for its achievements in the field of chronometry. The 1966 Full Calendar is available in red gold, and in a limited edition of 199 pieces in palladium. The displays include date, day of the week, month and moon phases. The 40mm case has a sapphire back revealing the GP033M0 mechanical self-winding movement designed by the Manufacture. Palladium is a very white metal that is part of the platinum family and twenty times less abundant than gold. It does not require any rhodium plating, and it does not tarnish. The Full Calendar is priced at $19,800 for either the palladium or red gold versions and deliveries to retailers should begin around June.Technical specificationsPalladium caseDiameter: 40 mmAntireflective sapphire crystalSapphire case-backWater resistance: 30 metersGirard-Perregaux movement GP033M0Mechanic
FHH Introduces the Watch Tablet Sales Tool
Fine watch aficionados often lament that they know more about the timepieces in the case than the sales associates behind the counter. The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) addresses this issue with the Watch Tablet, a thin touchscreen tablet PC that puts vast amounts of watch-related information at the associates’ fingertips. The Watch Tablet contains information on many topics, including 29 FHH partner brands, watchmaking and gemology, manufacturing and craftsmanship, and watch movements and complications. All content is interactive and much of it is illustrated with animation. The Watch Tablet is updated regularly via the FHH's secure content management system. My AD Says Patek Will Keep the 5270 R.......
I was talking to my AD about the 2015 Pateks and he was told that Patek knows they let too many of the prior years 5270's into the market. Patek assured them that the RG will be very much limited in supply as to try to stabilize the market. Can this be believed? This sounds good to a prospective customer. I am evaluating my collection with reducing the number. I just miss wearing the PP when others are on my wrist. Still loving the 5980 AR! Evaluating the 5970R vs the 5270R......
PAM048 Question
Is this discontinued or do they still make R series (2015)?Sorry for the newbie question, I am newer to this brand.
