The Value Proposition: The Archimede Pilot 39, With Untreated Bronze Case And Workhorse ETA Movement
Drive north from New York City and in about two hours you’ll arrive at Dia:Beacon, one of the finest collections of contemporary art around, in a remarkable setting on the Hudson River. Hopefully, while there, you’ll have a surreal encounter with "Crouching Spider" – a massive sculpture by artist Louise Bourgeois. What exactly does this have to do with watches? Well, "Crouching Spider" uses bronze as a key material in its construction, the same metal used for the case of the Pilot 39 from German watchmaker Archimede. And it just so happens that the Pilot 39 has the right balance of conservative proportions, elegant case materials, and sporty design details to make it the ideal watch for a low-key weekend away. AP and 007
Just been reading something similar on the Rolex tread and thought it would be an interesting topic on here, it's a well know fact that AP turned down the opportunity to be on the wrist of a Mr James Bond 007 and be a part of the franchise. Just wondering which model you guys would have liked to have seen him in and which he would be best suited to? I'll kick things off by playing it cool and going for the 15400 ss with black face
First and maybe only AP I'll ever own so I had to make it count...
15202 an updated classicthanks for all the enablers on the forum who helped me make my choice without you even knowing...
5960a on a rubber strap?
I've been toying with the idea of trading a couple of my watches in for the steel 5960. I think having the option of leather and rubber straps would also be great. I've seen pics of the watch on a leather strap but none on a rubber strap. Any steel 5960s on a rubber strap out there?Cheers
Pre Owned Rolex Papers
I'm currently in the market for a pre owned 11470, I have a choice of 2, the only difference is 1 set of papers are from Paris Jeweller the other is to be advised, I accept the watches originally came from Switzerland and to me having papers with the watch is a plus, however I was wondering if this would have any impact on the deal or have any future effect ?
