Watch Experts Network: ‘DuBois et Fils DBF003-07 – in-depth watch review by ESCAPEMENT’
A significant dateAngus Davies provides a hands-on' review of the new DuBois et fils DBF003-07. This watch features a big date complication with a visually striking bottle green dial.Throughout history, dates have been used to label momentous events. My parents and their peers would remark, Where were you when Kennedy was shot? . The assassination of JFK, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, on the 22nd November 1963 was of huge historical significance and the date became etched on the minds of a generation. The importance of two digits which denote a date should never be overlooked. A forgotten birthday can be a source of much upset. Many men have been on the wrong end of a tongue-lashing for absentmindedly forgetting an anniversary. One or two numerals can mean so much. Sometimes a small aperture at 3 o'clock employing a sole disc seems inadequate when it comes to conveying the importance of a date. A big date, which is technically more complex, bestows more gravitas than the typical indication
15202 case back finishing
Hi guys,I'm a pretty new owner of a 15202. A few days after purchasing I noticed a flaw on the dial, so I basically had to send it right back for service.I've just picked it back up and noticed that the case back is pretty rough and unpolished, with the surface looking different than the rest of thew case and bracelet. I didn't notice this when I first bought the watch, and it seems like fairly poor finishing for a watch of this level. Is this how they all are?For comparison, when I look on their website and watch the 360 video, they make it look smooth and polished.thanks for your thoughts.
Speedmaster at a Thrift Shop- would you buy it?
This afternoon I came across a well used Omega Speedmaster at a Thrift Shopfor $700. I am unable to authenticate it but looks to be the real deal. Knowing the risks, would you buy it???
Seamaster 2264.50 Quartz
Hello folks,I have a line on a like new 2005 model Seamaster. I've heard a lot of positive feedback on the newer watches - the automatics. What is the story on these older versions. It is on a #825 bracelet. What kind of price range would one expect on a watch of this type...This watch is complete with papers and boxes. Many thanks,K
